“Expensive, but worth the money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

At the end of a hot day, we almost decided not to bother with the museum, given our fatigue and the extravagant admission price ($12.00/person). I am so glad that we decided to give in to our curiosity and ignore our budget!. The museum is thoughtfully and beautifully constructed, with exhibits that are very well displayed, and very informative. Since my knowledge of Angor history was sketchy at best, and since I had been overwhelmed with the new sights and historical context, two hours in the beautiful, air conditioned, quiet and instructive building were perfect as an end to my first day and introduction to my second day exploring the ruins.

“Over-priced but a good introduction to Angkor”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

We visited the Museum on our 4th day in Siem Reap, after spending three days touring Angkor and other sites. We were a bit put off by the entry fee ($12), but the exhibits gave a very good background and introduction to the area. We wished that we had gone to the Museum before beginning our tour because there is so much information to absorb at Angkor. A visit to the Museum before visiting Angkor might have made the tour more enjoyable and a bit less overwhelming.

“Big, systematic arrangement and informatics”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012

It is pricey ($12) among other museum, but really huge display and informatics. If you love to know more about Siem Reap and Angkor Wat before visiting Angkor Wat, it can give you alot information.

“It's a 2-3 hour visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012

I regret only having half an hour at this place. It's definitely worth the $12 so don't skimp on this!! The galleries are organised by periods and the exhibits are all well labeled, with ample description and explanation. There are also some multimedia aid such as short movies and an equinox sunrise simulation of the Angkor Wat. There's a lot to take in and overall, the building that houses the exhibition is very spacious and well designed, making you want to hang around in there for hours. Please visit this place if you can!

“If you have time do this first before your temple trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

Really interesting addition to the temples. There are guides available as well as an audio player you can rent for 3$ to talk you around the museum. There are intertwined audio visual shows as well in a range of languages. Great grounding in the Hindu gods etc and Cambodian history. Entrance cost 12$. Don't worry that you can't photograph and touch the exhibits you will be able to photograph very similar exhibits in context when you go round the temples.
