Arrived with two friends to be met by a driver employed by the hotel with a wide smile, very chatty, friendly and informative as all the staff and drivers associated with the hotel are.
On arrival, you enter down a dusty road, turn off to stop outside 3 separate parts to the hotel. We had all booked into the bed and breakfast part - all rooms were basic doubles with air conditioning, vaulted wooden ceilings and with a shower, toilet and sink off each room concealed by a sliding material screen. All basic. No shampoo, no TV, no phone and towels were stained/ unclean. At 5pm each day staff come to the rooms to spray the mosquitos. Unfortunately they do not clean up the dead bodies afterwards, lying on the top of the bed. Mosquitos in my room were bit excessive - bit worrying considering this is an area of malaria and at the time there was an outbreak of Dengue fever - spread by mosquitos.
Breakfast is very basic - a choice of bread and jam or muesli with choice of drink - tea or coffee. If you want an extra choice you pay extra. The two redeeming features are the exceptionally friendly staff - who are fortunate in their well meaning boss - and the very pleasant pool which must be one of the few pools in Siem Reap so centrally located.
On checking out of the hotel I was disappointed to find that not only was the credit card machine not working- apparently it's Cambodia not the hotel- but staff/ manager had not thought it useful to inform guests to allow extra time to arrange funds before potentially running for their flights.
However the rooms - in the B & B side - although basic - are cheap - we paid $23 per person for own double per night- apart from the pool area and adjoining bar be prepared to feel like your roughing it a bit.
