“Affordable and value for money hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

I booked a Deluxe Double Room

Pros: Location wise is fairly good. I suggest to take tok-tok to/from the hotel to any place you go. Because I feel a little scary when passing by the black streets to the hotel. It only cost $1 to Pub street and Night market per trip.

Free pick up from them, and if you decide to go to Angkor Wat, the tok-tok driver who pick you up will be your driver.
For USD15 - 1 day trip (exclude Sun Rise), he will bring you to Angkor Wat, free cold drinks, and cold tower, and one thing, they are very friendly, and will always be happy to assist you.
For my trip, he charge me USD7 to Angkor Wat in the afternoon for the sun set trip. (But its possible to negotiate at USD5)

Breakfast is more than enough, but the tables are limited so you have to eat quickly and give your seats to other people.

2-3 computers are available at the hotel lobby.

Wifi is conveniently available in all rooms, but make sure u ask for good wifi rooms.

USD 20: 1 day trip include Sun Rise
USD 15: 1 day trip exclude Sun Rise
USD 7 or 5: Afternoon after 5pm, Sun Set

Cons: The road to the hotel is quite bumpy as said by the other travelers. And it is really dark on that street.

Conclusion: Despite the location, for the price of only from 19USD, this is the best hotel you can find. Friendly staff too!

Room Tip: Ask for a good wifi rooms and rooms away from staircase. Lower floors room if you are lazy to climb.

“Perfect for exploring the Angkor ruins”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

We stayed for four nights while exploring the Angkor Archaeological Park in mid-December 2012, for which this hotel proved the perfect base.

The staff are friendly and tuk tuk/car/van day tours of the ruins and guides can be arranged through the hotel for fairly reasonable prices. We arranged three days' worth of trips with the wonderful tuk tuk driver Mr Bun (a lovely, friendly man with good English - we recommend him).

The complimentary pick up from the bus station when we arrived from Phnom Penh was much appreciated, as was the breakfast (a sandwich each) packed for us when we visited Angkor Wat for sunrise (5am departure time from the hotel).

The hotel is only minutes from one of the main streets of Siem Reap (Sivatha Rd), which leads down to the markets, various restaurants (Haven and McBuddha are recommended - both on side streets) and to the riverside in under 10-15 minutes.

During our stay a talented bartender also made fantastic cocktails during the hotel's 4-8pm 'happy hour' (US$3, buy one get one free!).

Only minor hiccups were the at times patchy wireless internet and the fact their credit card machine wasn't working when we wanted to pay, forcing us to find adequate cash on short notice.

Overall Angkor Pearl Hotel deserves the praise it frequently gets from others on this site.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the central staircase are likely quieter as corridor noise is quite noticeable.

“Value for Money and Friendly Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

The hotel is great and manned by even friendlier staff.
I liked the use of wood in the room, it was sort of modern and traditional combined into one.
We arranged for a sunrise tour of Angkor Wat and the hotel provided us with a very friendly and efficient English speaking driver guide. We also had the chance to ask for his recommendation for a local/cheap restaurant outside Angkor Wat for a true local experience.
Note that the hotel packed our breakfast for us. We had to leave the next day for Vietnam so they were the once who arranged the bus tickets for us. Again, since we had to leave very early in the morning the next day they packed our breakfast for us. Indeed, the friendly staff makes this gem of a small hotel wonderful.
Other Advantages: The old market/restaurants and city centre etc are just a few minutes walk from the hotel. There is even a nice noodle shop beside the hotel which we had our snack after that long bus ride from Phonm Penh. They cook nice Cambodian/Chinese noodles plus the brother of the owner speaks very good English.

“Unbeatable value for a hotel in Siem Reap”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

We couldn't believe our luck when we came across this little gem in SR. For $17 a night,we got a great room which looked new and was spotlessly clean, a huge buffet breakfast, toiletries and the best service we have ever come across. The reception staff are wonderful and will do whatever they can to guarantee you have a good stay. They will make any bookings for you that you need so ask them to help you out. There are also laundry services which we used while there. The bar man is also great and does excellent and very cheap cocktails in the evenings. He got the kitchen to make us great banana shakes in the morinings too. We were upgraded to the aspara suite on our last night which is well worth the extra $15 for a bit of luxury. We could not believe how nice it is, like a 5star hotel. Bring lots of one dollar notes for tips as you get so much here and the staff work so hard. We hope to be back to this place again for sure. The beds are more comfortable than the others than we have stayed in so far, some at much more expensive hotels.

“Amazing value, great service, yummy breakfast!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

We were really taken care of in every way. The rooms are great value, spacious and new and very clean and airy. They helped us with everything we needed (even a breakfast box we could take with us when going to see the sunrise at Angkor) and were just so nice.
Our tuk-tuk driver, Mr Theoun, was delightful and so nice and friendly and helpful. We wanted to go to quieter, less touristy places (or at least avoid the big tour groups) and Mr. Theoun helped us with this and was always great.
The hotel also found us a really good guide one day to see the temples, and he was just what we were looking for.
Altogether, amazing value, great service and the breakfast buffet was delicious!

Room Tip: The twin rooms are spacious
