“"Voice Of The Cambodian Child"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013

Really enjoyed this, Beatocello was not only a beautiful cellist, but an inspiration. He music was powerful, but his words even more so. He tells the history of the foundations of his hospitals and tells stories about the children and how much donations and blood are truely needed. I donated blood as my contribution. It is much needed for these children who suffer daily from dengue fever. Free entry to the concert and you are not obliged to donate....however i guarantee you will want to donate when you realise just how lucky us westerners are. Wonderful man and a great evening.

“"Be the change you want to see in the world"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

Wow. What an inspirational evening! And very informative! Dr Beat Richner and his co workers are making miracles.. It's a definite "Must do" to not only learn about the health crisis in Cambodia but to also be so inspired - to see what change can happen - and to enjoy yourself - even though the mood is a somber one, Dr Richner has a light approach and a funny sense of humor (making jokes with the audience - "The old ones we need your money, the young ones - we need your blood, the ones in the middle - a bit of both would be nice.") - and he plays the cello beautifully. You do not have to pay to go, but any donations are welcome - even the smallest amount adds up to make a difference! It's held at the childrens hospital (easy to find)

“What an inspiring man”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013

This was one of our highlights. We even took our friend who is a Tuk Tuk driver and he'd only ever heard good things about this man but was in awe too.
The doctor plays a tune on his cello and then talks and then plays another tune and talks some more.
Finally he plays a short film that depicts his history and the hospitals, very intense footage.
Please go along and support this wonderful man and his wonderful work, you will be inspired as we were.

“Beatocello Fundraiser”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

If you go into the night knowing that this is a fundraiser that will help you to understand a significant amount more about the health care system in Cambodia and the challenges that it faces, you will come away feeling informed and inspired by the work of this man. If you are expecting a concert, you will probably be disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the guy can play cello, and he'll play 5 or 6 works, and throw in a few jokes, but that isn't the point. He gets political and he tells it how he sees it. There is a hint of arrogance to what he does and how he does it, but the man backs up what he says which the incredible work he has dedicated his life to doing. I enjoyed it and would recommend anyone in Siem Reap on a Saturday night check it out.
