“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

Really good value. Close to a convience store, pharmacy. Walking distance to all the markets, Pub St, etc. Breakfast was basic and the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner but overall we were very happy. The pool is fantastic and the restaurant has a good selection.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Clothes washing was only $2/kg, same day. They will arrange airport pick up as well.

Rooms are basic and even in cheap Cambodia, price/value is off here. Musky smells, insects in the room, and "iffy" power. Rooms are basic and functional but no more. Probably would look elsewhere despite the pool being decent.

The hotel was. . . fine, but I'm glad we only had to stay for two nights. The hotel was reasonably clean, the staff was good, and the location was great-- off the main road, so less noise, but a short walk to Pub Street and the Night Market area. The negatives, in my opinion, were twofold-- one, the water in the shower got lukewarm at best and considering how dusty and dirty you get touring Siem Reap, a hot shower would be nice. Second, the breakfast was just not good. The offering is eggs, fruit, and a baguette, and breakfast service doesn't start until 7:00 or later. Everyone with day plans shows up en masse at 7:00 and both mornings I was there, the power went out during breakfast which slowed things down even more. I understand frequent power outages happen daily across the city and that it isn't the hotel's fault, but given the other places I stayed in SE Asia over the month, this place just didn't quite measure up. However, I will say that it was quiet and safe, and those two things went a long way.

Having read mixed reviews on this hotel we think we struck lucky. We had a large room with a huge bed (memory foam mattress & new we think) which was so comfortable. After two weeks of terrible hard beds giving me a bad back this one was bliss! The a/c was also new and worked perfectly & was so quiet. We had constant hot water at all times. The room was very clean -the 4 most important things for a hotel to be ok with us. The staff were all friendly and spoke excellent English. The breakfasts were not brilliant but passable but when they were busy the tables were not cleared away for new diners to eat. The hotel was in a brilliant location, laying back off the main road so even the front rooms (which we had) were quiet. It is only a maximum of a 10 min walk to Pub Street and the old market & night markets, with plenty of other nice restaurants & shops en route. The bonus is a good size and clean swimming pool. We were in room No. 230 if you want to guarantee a really huge comfortable bed!

We stayed here over the new year period. We had booked (quited a few months ago) adjoining rooms as we are a family of 5 travelling. We were given two rooms on different floors. The rooms are old and smelly, there is no safe and as we found out later, the adjoining door in our room (not to our kids room obviously) was not even locked as some very noisy people who arrived at 3am one morning opened it to see what was on the other side. The reception staff were rude and when I asked about changing rooms he said "not my problem". The staff operating the bar were pleasant enough. The water was cold one morning and I was told I got up too early and it wouldn't be hot yet! Breakfast was very ordinary - I guess you get what you pay for but I am sure there is similiarly priced places around that would be a much better option.

Stayed here for 3 nights in December and had a great stay. The hotel is in a good location - only 5 minutes walk from the centre of town. The pool is great although it's a shame there aren't sun loungers on both sides as you lose the sun in the afternoon. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The rooms are basic and 'no frills' so don't expect luxury, but ours was clean and a good size. The aircon worked well but the fridge lost power when the key was not in the socket to power the room. A little annoying when you walk in and are looking forward to a cold water.

The breakfast was fine - bread with eggs of your choice plus fruit.

I would recommend this hotel if you want to be close to the centre of town and are not looking for 5* luxury.

I spent 5 days here in December. The hotel staff were just great. Really clean rooms, balcony, cold A/C and a great pool, where you could hear the kids in the school next door singing out their lessons. It was magic. Good food and drink available poolside, or go out on the street, restaurants every 10 feet.
Mr. Heng was absolutely the best. He arranged my rides here and there and made sure I was having a good time. I had the best guides and the greatest time with his help. Thank you Mr Heng! I'm sure you will be all the tourists favorite concierge!
This hotel is a hidden jem. Good rooms, pool, service, and I forgot to mention free Internet and breakfast?
Thanks for the great time Ankhor Palace!
