“We had a great visit.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

Good communication prior to our stay.
Vibol picked us up at the airport in his tuk tuk. He became our private driver for the two days we were there. Fantastic guy.
The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. Spoke good English.
The room was spacious and clean.
In 10 min by walking you are in city center.
Eat at Khmer kitchen. Amazing food.

Highly recommend this place. Would not look for another when we return.

Room Tip: Room 108 is great.

All the staff have been very helpful and friendly and informative. Organising trips out, tuk tuks and general information. The accommodation was very good for the price , be aware there is no deposit box in the rooms although you are offered a little box on reception to put small valuables if required. We kept everything with us! Breakfast was an extra but of good quality and fresh.

Room Tip: Outside the hustle and bustle so rooms seem to be reasonably quiet.

While their rooms and service is good and comparable to other properties, what really stands out is how welcoming the staff is. They are genuinely happy to see you, serve you a delicious welcome drink, make an effort to know you, sit you down for an induction of the city and the surroundings. They give you a map with useful places like ATMs that don't charge a service charge, pharmacy, food places as per your preference. The reverse of the map has the map of Angkor temples and what is the best way to do them depending on how long you will be there and what pace you want to do it at. There is a computer in the reception area that allows you to browse if you don't have a device yourself. They also let me use their personal laptop to transfer my photos. It's also very close to pub street, just a 10-15 minute walk away, and $2 by tuktuk [$1 if you bargain hard]. A comfortable stay, made very pleasant by the staff.

We booked here based on price and the good review on TR.
We were not disappointed, very very clean and very friendly staff. They did not have someone at airport for us as promised but that was a blessing because we hired our taxi driver from the airport as our personal driver for the whole trip. He was only 30.00 a day and it was great to have a car with air con for our tours. It appears the hotel wants much more for a taxi per day ( the sign says 110$ per day?
The breakfast here Is very reasonable in price and very large portions. There are warnings not to leave valuables in your room so we used there safe box. I was nerves at first but they seem to be very careful and safeguard your money and passports with their life's.
I would recommend this hotel to my friends!

Thank you for your 4-star review of our guesthouse. We were so happy we did not disappoint. We would like to apologize with the mix up with your pick up. We are very sorry about that.

In regards to the sign for a taxi for 110$US, I am not sure which sign you were reading but I think it must of been the sign for a taxi to Koh Ker which is 120km from Siem Reap. Our daily taxi/car rates start from only 25$US per day for the main temple area.

We do have a few signs around the guesthouse about valuables and safe deposit. This is for our customers benefit to ensure that their valuables are locked away safely. We found taking these precautions works very well and we have never had anything lost or go missing.

Once again, we are glad your enjoyed your stay and it was very nice to meet you.

All the best,

Phil, owner

A friend and I stayed here for 6 nights, we loved the people so much. They recommended us tuk tuk drivers that were amazing. They helped us book a tour to Angkor Wat, drove with us to find a place to mini golf, got bicycles for us, recommended places to eat and I'm sure the list could go on. Such a clean, welcoming experience in Cambodia. Would recommend this place to anyone and all ages.
We miss the people already and it's only been a week!!

I really liked this hostel, the rooms were very clean, the location was perfect, just a short walk away from Pub street (or a short tuk-tuk ride away). I think it was really good value for money. We organised our Angkor Wat sunrise tour and everything else through the hostel, the staff were really helpful. They also arranged for us as part of our Angkor Wat tour a boat tour of a floating village traditional Cambodian buffet and dance in the evening. It was really well priced compared to other tours and everything, including the Angkor Wat passes was all sorted out for us. We got out at 5am for sunrise and our tour guide, Tokla, was there to meet us and was really helpful all day. The hostel were also really helpful in arranging our onward travel to Bangkok. Highly recommended!

first off, our supposed arrival was at 9:30 pm but we got diverted to phnom phen because of a storm and had to wait it out there. i managed to borrow a phone from a kind airport security personnel to inform the guesthouse of what happened, completely unsure of what time we'd be arriving. when our plane finally went back to siem reap at 2 am, our driver, david was there waiting! really really grateful for that. he also adjusted our tour schedule so we would have enough time to sleep.

prior to that, email exchanges with Phil was quick and satisfactory. I prepared a customized itinerary and requested for little extra details and breakdown of costs and Phil was very accommodating and provided sound advice. he chose a really good and cheerful guide for us, Hang Borey, whom we greatly appreciate for showing us some spots that aren't known much by tourists and giving us an adventure trail in beng mealea. hooray for that!

pub street was walking distance. we simply took a tuktuk when going back at night because there are dark spots and being female i was a bit hesitant to walk through it.

the staff have a sense of humor which we appreciate. we were leaving and at the last minute decided to order dinner from them only to find out they don't serve dinner. So they offered to pick up our food from a pizza place instead.

rooms are very clean and spacious, beds are wide enough and wifi was fast. it was actually my first time to stay in a guesthouse since i usually feel safer staying in a hotel but i am converted and completely satisfied with their service. value for money was more than fair.

all in all highly recommended. really friendly and awesome staff :)

Room Tip: don't forget to request for rooms with windows if you prefer such :)
