“At first we were disappointed, but things improved”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2014 via mobile

The AC is not adequate for the weather. The management requires that you turn off the power to your room when ever you are out. So the room heats up. It is impossible to charge camera or phone batteries unless you are in the room. However, the breakfasts are ample and varied. We enjoyed the pool and the decor. The wifi was a sometime thing and never functioned in our room. On the third day of our stay, two days worth of emails began arriving. The staff were helpful, and my wife enjoyed her message.

My husband and I booked this hotel via a booking website at very short notice after we left a problematic guided tour. When we turned up, the reception manager apologised to us about the fact that they had been fully booked, but she was able to book us in elsewhere for the first of the two nights we had requested. Not only that, but we were able to get back to the Angkor Home Hotel early enough to go on a tour of Angkor Wat and the Landmine Museum (we'd arranged the tuk tuk driver who got us to the Angkor Home Hotel to take us there).

This was, along with the hotel we spent the first night in, one of the hotels we would certainly consider coming back to if we're ever in Siem Reap again. Very happy with our stay!

Nice rooms! spacious clean, even though it looks a little like the seventies, with the old style switches and knobs that control the lights in the room, that just added to the experience.

Nice clean bathroom, shower and a Safe! But the best thing this hotel has to offer is the amazing breakfast! The selection is HUGE and the meals are very very tasty! If I'm in Siem Reap again, I'll be sure to go back!

No internet in many rooms (including mine), broken lock, coffee but no kettle and nothing they will do about it. Poor location too. I understand the hotel was fully booked and there were no other rooms available but there were no apologies, no compensation or help of any kind. Not good enough and not what you expect in this part of the world where service is a real art.

This hotel was allocated to us as part of our 3 day/2 night tour to Siem Reap from Bangkok. The horror trip; a result of a bad decision to book with Thailand Tours Center [sic]; will be outlined in another review.

The hotel was quite a surprise once one enters the atrium from the foyer. Water features, sculptures and sala's were a welcome sight. And the glorious pool area can just be seen from the atrium.

The room and bathroom were both quite spacious and all the usual features were available (e.g. safe, mini bar, showering accessories etc). It was clean and comfortable, certainly not homely or luxurious, but decent for a couple of evenings.

We were lucky enough to score a large private balcony at the front of the hotel, however owing to the dust and dirt of the street below we really couldn't appreciate it all that much (not to mention dragging said dust and dirt through our room when returning inside).

The restaurant was quite another nice surprise. Excellent quality, lovely décor, good value, local and international cuisine. I'd very much recommend the Beef Lok Lak and Fish Amok if you get the chance. The Fresh Spring Rolls are always a safe bet too. Lovely, lovely, lovely kitchen and wait staff. In fact, the service in the restaurant was the determining factor to eat there again on the second night. The only downfall of the restaurant is a logistical one. The pool is directly off the restaurant, so guests come from the atrium through the restaurant to the pool, which after a while started to detract from the atmosphere that they'd attempted to create (and we felt awkward traipsing past folks having a meal in our swimmers, towels and flip flops too).

The pool area was lovely given the space. The hotel has really made an effort to make the area comfortable and relaxing. Wooden decking surrounds the pool and all manner of shrubs and sculptures adorn the non-restaurant side. Multiple tables and chairs are available for guest use to enjoy a cocktail or two from the pool bar. Very nice. I wish we could have spent more time here.

The check in and check out process was easy enough. We had a small issue on arrival but that is attributed to the lack of organisation/information from the Thailand Tour Center [sic], and is not a reflection of the hotel reception team.

Overall, we were happy with the hotel, particularly the restaurant and the team. Would I stay here again? Probably not, but that's more so because I don't really see myself ever returning to Siem Reap. Happy travelling :)

We were delighted with our stay at this great hotel. It was immaculately clean, staff wonderful and food in the restaurant some of the best in Siem Reap. The location off the main road was very quiet.

Room Tip: We were on the 5th floor and it was nice and quiet.

This was the sixth hotel in our 15 day tour of Vietnam and Cambodia. We chose the mid range price bracket for our accommodation and sadly this hotel had a lot to desire in comparison to the previous 5. Although all the usual 'accoutrements' of 4 star accommodation were in place, it was a 'gesture' in fixtures and service rather than the real deal. I agree with the comments of previous visitors in the past six months. The rooms are spacious but absolutely spartan, the furniture is scratched and chipped, the shower curtain mouldy, however the overall appearance is clean. The linen is thin and more grey than white and the replacement of daily consumables in the bathroom/ coffee and tea facilities was spartan. Sadly we found the shower 'Luke warm' which matched the air conditioning! The hotel does have 'excellent bones' the Decore in the foyer is quite unique and inviting, however the appearance is 'skin deep', with everything reflecting a serious lack of funding.

The staff were ever courteous and welcoming, however their efforts could not mask the obvious lack of funds dedicated to offering 4 star service.

Room Tip: There are some rooms which overlook the pool, these have a small balcony, and the pool courtyard is...
