“Absolute Bliss!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

The River Garden was our first stop on our month long trip and boy were we spoilt. It feels like a little oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Siem Reap town. We stayed upstairs in the Khmer Cottage and absolutely loved it. The gardens were beautiful, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool was by far the best part- being able to cool down after a long day of walking around Angkor Wat. The food and restaurant ended up being our fave meal on our whole trip. The Chicken Amok Curry was devine, as the rest of the menu....and I cant forgot about the lemongrass martini's.... the best ever! The breakfast buffet was also very nice and the hotel had it's own tuk tuk drivers waiting out the front, to take you anywhere you desire. We ended up eating at the hotel most of the time because the food was so good- hence why they run the 'Cook's & Tuk Tuks' Cooking School. Each morning the local Monks come into the hotel to receive a donation and give their blessings. This was a really special touch.
We are hoping to go back to Siem Reap again one day, and probably wont even consider staying anywhere else, because we loved The River Garden so much. It's quiet, relaxed, and very quaint. Im not a fan of big, sterile hotels, so this place was perfect for us. I highly recommend staying here, or at least going for lunch and a swim in the pool.

Room Tip: The Khmer Cottage is set apart from the rest of the rooms.

With so much to see and do in the busy town of Siem Riep and its surroundings it was always a deep pleasure to come back to this tropical, peaceful oasis and have a refreshing dip in the pool and relax..the staff were just great, the food delicious and our 8 day stay at the RiverGarden a wonderful treat!

I have just spent a wonderful month at the River Garden Hotel. I arrived as “a total stress-head and within a few days was floating on the wind.” It truly is a magic place. The beautiful swimming pool set in a tropical jungle is an oasis away from the bustle of hot and sweaty downtown Seim Reap. All the staff are really charming, the food delicious and the croaking frogs soothing. Deb does everything to make your stay as rewarding as possible – you can go to pilates, singing club, cooking classes or do an art course or just swing in a hammock with your kindle. Don’t miss having a poolside lemongrass martini – or two or three!

We found ourselves, one hot, steamy afternoon, at the RiverGarden swimming pool. How gorgeous the setting, how cool the water! Just the thing to end a full day of temple touring.Relax by the pool with a cool drink and a snack, served by the lovely staff. A dip in the pool every now and then to cool down. Just wonderful!

The owner and staff were very friendly and polite. The garden was beautiful and peaceful. We also ate there and the food was worth the price. I would recommand the River Garden to anyone. And although it was high-season the pool was certainly not to crowded.

We had 4 nights at The River Garden and it was fabulous. The first night we arrived later in the evening and the kitchen had stayed open for us in case we wanted some dinner. We did and the food was really good and it was so nice to arrive after a long flight and not have to worry about finding somewhere to eat. All of our needs were taken care of during our stay, our Tuk Tuk driver Peck was fantastic and even scored our mini golf game for us! The breakfasts are really good and we enjoyed the cooking school, Cooks in Tuk Tuks. Would recommend River Garden if you are visiting Siem Reap and looking for some genuine accommodation that feels like Cambodia. Garden setting is really tranquil and elaxing.

Room Tip: Upstairs overlooking the pool on either side is a good spot

Cooks in tuk tuk was great! The market tour wasn't too special but we learned a lot and the dishes we make are amazing. We've had multiple Amoks but this was by far the best. I'm vegetarian and they accommodated my needs and it was relaxing to eat by the pool. Highly recommended.
