“A wonderful stay in siem reap!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

My partner and I just spent 1 week at Villa Kiara and what a time we had! Initially we came for 3 nights, extended for another 3 and again for 1 more night! All staff are so attentive and helpful, the hotel and grounds are beautiful and it makes for a very relaxing place. Just out of the hectic old market area, Villa Kiara is located in a charming residential area and they provide free tuk tuk rides to & from the center so it is perfect! They helped us organising all our outings but were also very discreet.
Thank you to everyone at Villa Kiara!
We hope to come back again soon!

PROS:
-Gorgeous. Everybody else has said it and it's true.
-Small. It felt very intimate and cozy.
-Attentive and warm service.
-Great price. Massages, food and drinks were all very reasonable. Free tuktuk rides into town a PLUS!
-Floorplan. Our party of four (my husband, myself, my teenage son and teenage cousin) stayed in a suite and had plenty of room and enough privacy during our stay.
-Food. Breakfast was yummy, as was the homemade passion fruit juice they served when they first welcomed us! (The pizza, however, was not great. I wasn't really expecting it to be, though.)

CONS:
- They lost our reservation (We booked through the Splendia website). I wouldn't have known if I had not emailed them about a week before our arrival. They did offer to house us in another hotel for one night, but thank goodness somebody else cancelled and we were able to stay as originally planned.
- No wifi on our first night. They did fix it by the next day, however, and asked us if we were happy with their service.
-Mosquitos. Our room was on the ground floor next to the pool and I saw at least 10 of the buggers flying around in our room when we first checked in. I'm usually against using harsh toxic chemicals, but when I approached the front desk, I willingly took the can of Raid they offered and sprayed the heck out of our room. I guess mosquitoes are to be expected, considering the tropical climate.
- Hot water/Tub/Shower. Although the bathroom was sleek and modern, all four of us had trouble taking a bath/shower in the tub/shower combo in the room. It looked like a tiled shower, but the floor was sloped like a tub and there was a handheld shower head next to the faucet but nowhere to hang it up high to take a standing shower. The water was also very slow to heat up.

All in all, despite the cons, I would gladly return if we ever make it back to the area. The staff made great efforts to address all of our problems and the place is just gorgeous and gave us something to look forward to after a long hot day of touring the temples.

Room Tip: The suite was great for our party of four. The bath setup was a little awkward, however, and the hot...

Absolutely loved my stay here! This hotel is such an wonderful retreat after a full day at the temples. The staff were so lovely and accommodating and our rooms were gorgeous. The only downside was the location which is about a 5-10 minute tuk tuk ride outside of town but the villa provides a free tuk tuk service which makes the distance hassle free. The best part was the amazing free breakfast you receive. I will definitely stay in this wonderful place again if I return to Siem Reap.

Not a large Villa, tucked away on edge of town, 17 beautifully appointed units. Wonderful pool next door to dining area, All staff aim to please.
Neat well maintained gardens. Breakfast included. Tuk tuk free service into town and pick up. Tours to Angor Wat the Villa will arrange, nothing was any trouble. Dining in at night away from bustling crouds, Just SO GOOD,we highly recomend Villa Kiara.

Room Tip: We had a higher room facing pool, a good spot to read on verander

We spent three days at Villa Kiara with our family of five - three grown kids. This small hotel is a wonderful respite after a hot day of touring Angkor Wat - nice pool, wonderful staff and quiet rooms. Breakfast is included and excellent! They also provide complimentary tuk tuk service to the town center and it's great to be away from the pub scene late at night! Nice bar, pool table, ping pong and Internet. Room was lovely, great bed and plenty of hot water and bathrobes! Great open garden feel, mellow and friendly.

Tucked away in an outlying residential neighborhood lies a property where you can still see the stars. Be charmed by toads, lizards and geckos in the common areas - remember, you're not downtown. Siem Riep has come to resemble Las Vegas. If you want to feel Cambodia, choose this hotel. Free tuk tuk to the market eliminates the only disadvantage here.

Staff were personable and attentive, American and Asian food well prepared and reasonable in cost, amenities such as $15 message and poolside bar/restaurant made self-pampering easy. Gorgeous pool! I want to go back.

Room Tip: First story rooms open to the pool, but might have a lizard or bug sneak in occasionally - perhaps j...

The hotel is a 5 min drive from the centre of town but they lay on free tuk-tuks which will drop you off AND pick you up. The pool is gorgeous - it has 8 sun loungers and two raised 'double beds' with muslin drapes. We had it to ourselves for the whole day Saturday! Breakfast was included in the room rate and was fantastic and plenty of it. The restaurant food was also good, even if the portions weren't huge. The staff were very helpful and allowed us to check out late as noone was arriving to our room. We stayed there so I could run in the Angkor Wat half marathon and it was just what we needed - calm, relaxing and comfortable. It said 'Welcome John' in grass stems on the bed when we arrived! They even gave me a free T-shirt to commemorate my participation in the race! A red baize pool table by the pool too! Our room was a tiny bit dark but otherwise immaculate. Overall - faultless!!

Room Tip: Rooms near or overlooking the pool seem to be better and lighter.
