“Really nice meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2014

We ate at the Champey on our last night and were attracted bythe fact that we had been unable to try Kampot Peppercorns (which were on our to do list) at any other restaurant.

My gf had the Garlic Prawns With Kampot Peppercorns and I had the Beef Lok Lak. Admittedly I did steal a number of the Peppercorns from her though :)

The food was beautifully presented..the garlic prawns were very large and served with a very nice sauce and rice garnished with banana leaves, flower petals and an orchid. The Peppercorns though were a taste sensation...fragrant on the first taste and finished with an explosion of taste and heat..yum. My Beef Lok Lak was a huge portion and served with a fried egg on top, which i loved. I mixed a few of the stolen peppercorns with my sauce and it was a fantastic combination...I apologise if i have insulted Khmer Cuisine by my actions but i could not resist :)

Service was brilliant and the staff were just lovely. Its a little bit pricier than the surrounding restaurants but 2 excellent mains and drinks for around $20 seemed fair to me. Try it.

“Delicious Cambodian Cuisine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2014

We ate here following a recommendation from our hotel and tour guide. The food was fresh, tasty and nicely presented. The staff were attentive and we found prices to be reasonable, one of the best meals we had in Siem Reap.

“Fresh and delicious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014

Had a set meal at this restaurant for lunch, which consisted of siem reap sour soup with fish, mango salad with crab cakes and chicken satay sticks with sticky rice. The soup was delicious and would have easily fed 4 people, given it was full of fresh vegetables and chinks of fish. The crab cakes were hot and crispy and went very well with the mango salad. The chicken satay sticks were very flavoursome and again served very hot. The restaurant staff were very attentive and the restaurant itself was clean and air conditioned, a nice break from the hustle of the market.

“Average Cambodian Cuisine”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2014

We were not overly impressed with the service or the cuisine at this restaurant which seems to be favoured by tour groups. With all the wonderful choices available in Siem Reap, one can do much better than "average".

“Bit of a let down”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2014 via mobile

We ate here by recommendation from our hotel. The front area lacked atmosphere and although the menu was large, we struggled to find anything that jumped out at us.

The waiters were not interested after they had got us in off the street, and the meals themselves were quite overpriced compared to many other smaller and more intimate restaurants in town. It is a huge place so if you are there on a slow night you are really dwarfed by empty tables.

Upon paying, the waitress took almost 10 minutes to return with our credit card and the machine. Something which always creates a bit of stress in foreign countries.

Overall was average but we wouldn't return due to the price and slow/impersonal service.
