We ate at the Champey on our last night and were attracted bythe fact that we had been unable to try Kampot Peppercorns (which were on our to do list) at any other restaurant.
My gf had the Garlic Prawns With Kampot Peppercorns and I had the Beef Lok Lak. Admittedly I did steal a number of the Peppercorns from her though :)
The food was beautifully presented..the garlic prawns were very large and served with a very nice sauce and rice garnished with banana leaves, flower petals and an orchid. The Peppercorns though were a taste sensation...fragrant on the first taste and finished with an explosion of taste and heat..yum. My Beef Lok Lak was a huge portion and served with a fried egg on top, which i loved. I mixed a few of the stolen peppercorns with my sauce and it was a fantastic combination...I apologise if i have insulted Khmer Cuisine by my actions but i could not resist :)
Service was brilliant and the staff were just lovely. Its a little bit pricier than the surrounding restaurants but 2 excellent mains and drinks for around $20 seemed fair to me. Try it.
