“The best place in town!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

Originally we were supposed to stay here only few days but we ended up staying for 17 nights! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the rooms are very clean. Cable tv, fresh towels and soap were an awesome extra. You can eat great food in the guest houses' own restaurant and the "lounge" is very cozy. Free wifi, games and books entertain you for hours. Special thanks to our amazing tuk tuk driver! All the drivers in here are honest and friendly - so I'd suggest to book the temple tours from here. We had an amazing time and we'll def come here again!

The name says it all; this place is run by the most welcoming (extended?) family who go out of their way to make you feel at home. They are extremely helpful with making onward travel plans and are very knowledgeable about things to do around Siem Reap. The rooms and bathrooms (ensuite) were very clean, and cleaned everyday. The beds were some of the comfiest I've slept in ever, and the rooms are really great value for the price. I will definitely stay here again if I return to Siem Reap.

The Happy guesthouse is a nice, clean guesthouse close to the center of Siem Reap. We arrived here from the bus station and had no clue about the prices. We are backpacking in Asia and try to live low budget. When we checked in we asked for a cheap room and were told they had some for 3 $ a night. One of the staff members showed us the room (nice and clean) and again confirmed that the room will cost 3 $ per night and not per person. So we spent our cash during the nnext couple of days and had enough money for the roomm food and drinks we had here. But when we wanted to pay, suddenly the room was 6 $ per night. Still cheap, but when u dont have the cash with u and u need to leave for your bus, kinda bad situation. The couple running the place got very upset on how we could expect that the room was only 3 $ a night. They called the staff in that showed us the room (poor guys, sorry again) and they had pay the difference. So we ended up paying 6 $ per night for every night but one night. We feel bad for the guy who had to come in, since he was off at the moment!!! still a nice guesthouse but the couple running it was really a pain in the ... when we said we wouldnt pay...So just watch out or maybe write it down to confirm when u check in!

Room Tip: Just make sure that u pay in the end what u have been told in the beginning! Our room had no Ac and...

Great little guest house! Rooms are nice. The one we were in had ensuite and cable tv, fan with air con as extra. Location is good, about 10 mins from markets and restaurants/street food. Nice and quite.
The staff here are it's biggest credit. Really go out of their way to be helpful and are super friendly. They seem to be able to book everything at their reception too! Comes recommended!

Was pleasantly surprised at the quality of our stay at the Happy Guesthouse. The a/c rooms are in really good condition, and the staff very friendly. At the Happy restaurant, you may have to wait at least 20 minutes before your food arrives, but the dishes are good and inexpensive, and the overall ambiance pleasant.

A nice, quiet, tucked-away place. Great value for your money!

I selected Happy Guesthouse for my recent visit to Sieam Reap with two friends and it was truly a happy experience. The young lady owner of the guesthouse called my name right when I stepped in with my luggage - a nice welcoming impression! The room was neat and clean, the fan, aircon and hot shower worked well - a good value for money at US14 for a triple room. The staff was friendly and helpful just as other travellers have complimented. All in all my friends and I were happy.
