“Highlight of our 4 week holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2011

Amazing hotel set in a beautiful building with a lush tropical garden and swimming pool/jacuzzi. The staff were unbelievable. So, so friendly and willing to offer you assistance with absolutely any request. On the morning we visited Angkor Wat at sunrise they packed us a picnic breakfast which was so kind. The then did the same on the day we left as we had an early flight. Such small things but so appreciated!

The rooms were large, cool and clean with hot water and a great tv.The beds were comfortable and the towels were not paper thin! It was never noisy and felt like you were at home. It is less than a 10 minute walk into pub street/the market and yes, some of the road is dirt and it's bumpy but there are street lights and always people around. We never found the location to be a problem. The hotel also offers a free tuk tuk into town whenever you need it. I am going to recommend this place to everyone. For the price it is incredible and the best way for us to finish a lovely holiday around Vietnam and Cambodia.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a place quite and good located. Its not in the middle of town but is walking distance to everything (pub street, night market and the central market). We stayed for 3 weeks and was the best option nice atmosphere. The restaurant is also great, either western food or local food.

I have been living in Siem Reap for three years and now come back and forth for business on a regular basis. And frankly I would not even try to think of another place to stay.

This is also the place I recommend to most of my friends visiting Cambodia. The rooms' standard is high without being extravagant and disconnected from the local culture. The local staff is fantastic and friendly and is always happy to help and give recommendations to travelers.

The hotel is sufficiently out of town to allow for a very peaceful night, but sufficiently close to get a motorbike driver to take you to town in less than two minutes. The place tends to be very calm, and allows for a good rest.

The Tigre de Papier also has two great restaurants in town, one with Cambodia and Western foods, the other for Indian food. You can ask the staff to deliver your meals directly from the restaurant when you feel like kicking back at the hotel, while enjoying the pool or the jacuzzi.

The staff is fluent in both French and English - and I should know since I speak both perfectly! A great choice for family/couples/small groups. It is a great choice to have a more intimate experience of Cambodia while preserving some reasonable comfort.

We stayed at LeTigre de Papier residence a few nights before going a on quad tour to Khoker.
The rooms are clean and quiet, nice small swimming pool, staff friendly and helpfully. The Motel is about 500m-600m from the city center and you can order meals from their restaurants in town. They have a tour desk and can arrange for you many things to do around Siem Reap. It is a very good value for money and we will not hesitate to recommend this motel to our friends.

Apart from clean and quiet room,we don't go much for this hotel. The staff was a bit slack.Sometimes the reception was left unmanned and we had to wait for the receptionist to 'appear from somewhere'.Apart from that, they mixed up our laundry.Somebody elses clothes were in our package while we lost some of ours. The first time we had our lunch there,we had to wait for about 45 minutes. We later found out the wait was because they had to get the food from Le Tigre restaurant, which was I think 10 minutes away.On the way in to the hotel, one has to go through the dusty street.

My boyfriend and I spent 9 nights at the Tigre de Papier and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were all really friendly and all helped us learn a bit of Khmer. The tuk tuk driver they organised to take us to to the temples was really nice, even he didnt speak much English. The family's small children were always very smiley. When I was ill one night one of the staff made me a hot tea with lemon which was a really personal touch you wouldnt get a bigger hotels.

The hotel was very clean and had the added bonus of having a swimming pool to relax in after a long day at the temples. On the day we did sunrise at Angkor Wat our breakfast was organised for us to takeaway - which was a nice touch. The jacuzzi was maybe a little too cold even for the cambodia heat!! The room was spacious and had a fridge which was useful for keeping drinks cool. Mini bar prices were very reasonable. Only downside about the room was the shower - not very powerful at all and a little tired looking.

Breakfast was pleasant and plentiful (it was included in the room price). The restaurant food was equally nice - just be aware that the restaurant isnt at the same location as the hotel so there is a bit of a wait for food. Both their english and khmer dishes were lovely. We also did their cooking course which was a good experience - although the recipes we were given didnt correspond to the recipes we cooked (I asked at the hotel and they gave me the ones that matched - maybe a mishap in communication). We cooked way too much food and it was a shame that we had to waste so much because it was so delicious.

As other reviewers have mentioned, the hotel is down a dirt path about an easy 10 minute walk from the bars and restaurants. We got a tuk tuk back in the evening if it was late - prices of which vary depending on how good at haggling you are!

We enjoyed our stay at Le Tigre de Papier and would definitely recommend it.

Good hotel, slightly out of town, but easy to find a tuk tuk. The staff are very helpful (some may say a little intrusive), but we were very happy with our stay here. The tuk tuk driver waiting to pick us up from the bus was a perfect start to the trip. The whole operation is very slick. Le Tigre du Papier restaurant and cooking school are not on site, but about 15 mins walk away in town.
