“Spotless!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

One of the cleanest places I have stayed in during my travels round South East Asia.

The guest house is located in a perfect location on Sok San Road, a stones throw away from Pub Street, the night market and the Old market. Several good and exceptionally cheap restaurants and bars, Mini market with ATM, laundry and Pharmacy all near by.

Quiet, spacious modern room with good air conditioning, safety deposit box, tv, free wifi, fridge, tea/coffee, toiletries in bathroom. Use of hairdryer and iron/iron board on request.

Small pool at the back of the hotel with 4 wooden sun beds that you could adjust the back and 4 flat beds, there were no cushions or padding on the beds which made them rather uncomfortable after a while. Plenty of pool towels. By afternoon only 2 beds get the sun!

Breakfast is served at the outside covered terrace at the front of the hotel, tea or coffee, passion fruit juice, croissant with butter/jam, then a choice of eggs (boiled, fried, scrambled) rasher of bacon and a small baguette, finishing off with a plate of fresh fruit.

The guest house provides a fee tuk tuk pick up service from the airport or bus station and there were always a few tuk tuks waiting outside the guest house to whisk you away anywhere you wanted, always agree a price before setting off tho.

Apart from breakfast you are unable to buy any food or snacks but they do have a large fridge with water and drinks at the front terrace which you pay for in reception. (annoying tho when you are at the pool and you have to walk through entire GH to get to it). Smoking is only allowed at the outside terrace area. They also have a strict no visitor rule, no friends are allowed in the lobby, pool or room.

Staff are extremely friendly and have good English and more than willing to help with tours or information.

Overall a spotlessly clean guest house in a perfect location.

I spent 4 nights here and didn't want to leave. The staff go above and beyond and are so welcoming and friendly that you feel like part of the family. The property is light, airy and very clean and comfortable. I had a room with a balcony which was a nice way to spend a couple of hours just relaxing after hitting the temples. It is in the perfect location. Close enough to Pub St, The Alley and The Lane that you can just walk and find somewhere to relax with a bite to eat and a refreshing cocktail but far enough away so that you don't get the noise. The breakfast was more than enough. You are definitely fuelled up for the temples! The pool area is lovely and very welcome in the afternoons. I have already booked to come back next year.

Room Tip: Ask for the Deluxe Suite with Balcony. They are only a fraction more that the normal rooms but they...

The hotel is absolutely beautiful! You have to take your shoes off to walk through the lobby, but it is spotlessly clean. The staff is beyond pleasant and helpful, they were so essential to our trip planning! They have a tuk-tuk pick you up from the airport (9535, Mr. Chhy was our tuk-tuk and he is the BEST!) and take you to the hotel. We were three girls traveling and he stayed with us everywhere we went and told us where we needed to be careful. The hotel is walking distance from Pub Street so you can feel free to walk out, have a drink, and come right back. Enjoy the pool during the day as well, it's not big, but it's nice to cool off and have a swim and dry off in the sun. The hotel has a wonderful breakfast and is across the street from two great restaurants for your dinner. I strongly, strongly recommend the hotel and our tuk-tuk, Mr. Chhy #9535.

Room Tip: We had the room at the end of the hallway towards the main road, we were able to get to the front ba...

Sok San Street, if you are a first time visitor to Siem Reap is the perfect place to stay. Long time traveler to the area, I have always stayed on this road. It is a very short walk to the mini mart, has a laundry shop and many massage places and cheap eats all in one street. It is only a few minuets walk to famous Pub Street. I encourage you to try the restaurants in Sok San as they offer amazing food for a very cheap price and often get over looked for Pub Street which doesnt always satisfy. The hotel staff are over helpful, they will go out of their way to please you. The hotel has a lovely pool on the ground floor as well as 2 free computers with fast internet. The room is clean, western style bathroom with shower and tub, tv, a/c, and a in room safe in the closet. It provides small details like a bathroom kit and dressing gown/slippers as well as extra cushions on the bed. The block out blinds are great for a decent sleep in and for the price this place is an excellent choice. It is on the higher end of the price range but I think it is good value for money. I stayed here for one night, when I needed a break from the backpacker budget places to have a decent sleep and a clean bathroom. I would have enjoyed staying here longer. I would recommend this place to couples and families. Breakfast is not included in the standard room rate.

Room Tip: all rooms are quite and should offer a great level of comfort. The double room has a king bed and th...

I spent 3 nights there. It's so close to Pub street nice market. No smoking smell :). Very nice small swimming pool ( but I didn't swim :P). The reception was very nice to me, I hope I could come back there someday.

We spent a week at the Encore Angkor, while exploring temples and enjoying the slightly mad nightlife of Siem Reap. It was the kind of peaceful sanctuary that made it possible to relax and recharge for each day's adventure.

Before entering reception you must leave your shoes at the shoe rack outside the door in the bar/restaurant area. Like many traditional Asian houses and temples, this causes you to relax a bit more than you normally might. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rates reasonable.

Our room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was great! It is everything you need for an Angkor Wat adventure.

My favorite thing about the room was the view of the crocodile farm next-door. It was a reminder that we weren't in Kansas anymore....or New Zealand for that matter. The crocodile pool is just over the wall from the hotel's pool (which, by the way, is clean, cool and very pleasant). While swimming, you can sometimes hear the mating calls of the crocs. It gets so hot in Siem Reap that you'll want to use the pool, even if you normally don't. Don't be put off by the crocs. You don't see them from the pool and hearing them just adds to the exotic mystery of this very unique land.

Crocs aside (I know, I 'm a little too fascinated by them) entire vibe of the hotel is clean, peaceful and professional, not to mention trustworthy, which is a very valuable quality indeed! When I go back for more explorations, the Encore Angkor will be my home-base.

Room Tip: If you want crocodile view, you'll need to ask for it. Not every room has it.

We spent 4 nights at this guest house while touring the temples of Angkor Wat and Siem Reap.

Pros
Free airport transport was pre-arranged via tuk tuk.
The lobby is welcoming and beautiful.
The reception was warm and welcoming no rudeness at all.
Everything is clean and tidy.
No shoes policy.
Close to Pub Street and Night Market
Close to many restaurants and shops

Cons
Hard bed
Towels did not smell freshest and weren't the softest.
In room safe was not very big. Will fit an Ipad but not 2. Couldn't fit my travel buddy's professional camera.
They require guests turn in the key when they leave the premises and will not allow you to bring any guests into the hotel room or on the property. Our friends were going to be there for less than 30 minutes and just wanted to see the pool were told to wait outside in the dining area.

Nonetheless since we were out most of the days doing stuff this was the perfect place for us to stay.
