We had a 10 night stay in Siem Reap and as usual picked our hotel based on previous Tripadviser reviews, and to a large part were not disappointed with The Pavillon Orient. We preferred the out of town location and with Seth our cheerful Tuk Tuk driver always available the "isolation" was never an issue. However we opted for a car with guide for our Temple tours, the car providing a welcome air conditioned refuge between stops and I would strongly recommend it . The hotel staff lived up to their excellent reputation and, without exception, were almost unbelievably cheerful regardless of the time of day or night. Breakfasts were on hand till just before lunch time and were quite acceptable with a range of cooked options together with fresh fruit and cakes. Our room was very pleasant and overlooked the pool through lush tropical plants, it also had a balcony with a small table and a couple of chairs, ideal for a couple of sundowners before Seth picked us up for our nightly trip into town for dinner. On arrival we had a complimentary bottle of wine left for us and the Hotel made a cake for my birthday...all very nice touches. My wife and I had several massages in the hotel spa which varied in quality from good to excellent (depending on which masseuse did it). The pool was a good size with plenty of sun beds and the garden surroundings all worked together to make it a very relaxing place to rest after the hustle and bustle of the Temples.....well at least it would have been if it were not for a neighbour of the hotel blasting out "music" over a very loud speaker system. I must assume we were just unlucky due to only one other mention of this issue in the other reviews, but believe me the noise made it impossible to sit round the pool or on your balcony and even in your room the TV would have to be on quite loud to drown it out. I enquired at reception and was told it was a funeral and would stop in a couple of days! The neighbour would start his ritual at around 4.30am with a "tap" "tap" "tap" on the microphone and in english say "testing... testing...testing" ....the prelude to the start of a full day of monotonous religious chanting/wailing. Admittedly the volume started somewhat lower to begin with but gradually increased as the day wore on. Earlier in the week Cambodian pop music blasted out from the same source, so 3 days out of our 10 day stay it was impossible to enjoy the "out of town" peace and quiet we had so looked forward to.
However even taking into account the "neighbour from hell" the hotel and its staff combine to make it a highly recommended and enjoyable place to stay........but take some ear plugs just in case!

We arrived late in the evenening and the driver was there on time, smiling and friendly.
After a short time, we arrived at the hotel. It is not in downtown Siem Reap, but we were actually happy about that, because it is much quieter and by car it takes about 5-6 minutes to get to the bars and restaurants.
Our room was very comfortable with amenities I had not expected for the price we paid,
like robes, minibar etc. We also had massages in the Spa on two days and the ambiance and service was really good.
The breakfast was alo a treat, my children loved the banana and chocolate cake.
We had arranged to have a driver instead of the Tuk-Tuk and an english speaking guide to make the most out of our 3 days in Siem Reap. I cannot praise our driver Mr. Samreth Leang and our guide Sophai enough.
They were always on time, friendly and could answer any question. They also arranged a dinner with dance show one evening with very good seats in the front and a boat tour to the swimming village.

What a discovery! I certainly didn't expect this value for money. A wonderful boutique hotel with very clean rooms of pleasant decor, fabulous service and a great ambience. Included in the price is a tuk-tuk driver for extended hours and a special breakfast which is so flexible it can be taken at virtually any time during the day - an important consideration when you want to get out to the ruins before dawn and spend at least the morning there. I have been to Angkor Wat 7 times now and stayed at 7 different places but this was certainly the best!

My husband and I meet one of our sons and his girlfriend here as a special treat following their graduations. We cannot speak highly enough about the place, the service, the room quality, the food, the tuk-tuk drivers who accompanied us for 4 days around the temples and town.
The hotel is small, it was full but you never felt the place was full or people falling over one another. The pool was the perfect oasis to cool and relax inbetween visiting sites. The hotel is on a main road but was never noisy.
An outstanding place where the choice of places to stay, many with over-inflated prices, is overwhelming.

We loved this place. My husband was so in love with the hotel, he suggested we extend our stay, but then i reminded him that we have to get back to work ;).
Great staff, great service, lovely and classy rooms, value for money.
We had a tuktuk at our disposal, and the airport drop and pick up was inclusive as we stayed two nites.
We ended up eating a couple of times at their restaurant as well and quite enjoyed the fare. We did not feel we were paying ridiculous prices for the food.
Tropical fruits in the room were a welcome sight, we quite enjoyed them and was a reprieve from the summer sun.
The staff was most attentive and the manager Sebastian was also very courteous.
We appreciated the little leaving gifts, I think since one encounters a lot of impersonal hotels nowadays, a touch of personal attention felt good.

This place was an oasis in a crazy bustling city. The sophisticated yet relaxing decor was wonderful, a dip in the fresh pool was divine after the heat of the temples. Wer had a driver included in the price of our stay- which was a b;essing, we could call at any time to be taken into town or sightseeing. He was so polite too, a lovely chap. The staff could not help you enough. We ate in once, food was OK, not spectacular though. So many great places in town.

Booked the hotel after the rave reviews and was not disappointed. Extremely attentive and friendly staff right from arrival to departure. Nice clean pool. Cannot comment on the food as we did not eat much there.
Free pick up and drop off at the airport and the free tuk tuk was great, and the guide that the hotel arranged, Mr. Vanny was the best. Ask for him if you want a guide.
They hotel also made further travel arrangements for us for no extra fees. All in all a great experience and should I ever wish to see the Angkor temples again, I know where I will be staying.
