1) Hotel booking -
Emails replied usually within 12h. No deposit required, we pay everything upon checkout. Very hassle free.
2) airport pickup and check in -
Smooth, nothing to complain about. Recepts speak good English and have good knowledge of nearby attractions and restaurants. Book on Angkor wat is loaned to guests upon checkin. You can have the option to purchase it later.
3) location -
You have the free tuktuk driver at your service, so location of hotel being 10-15mins (by car) away from city centre is no issue.
In fact, I do like it being away from city centre. The air is cleaner. Less dusty. But there is nothing interesting next to hotel. You have some provision stores, a bike repair shop, a place that constructs garden swings…
The entrance to hotel is also not the grand sweeping driveway you'd normally expect. The entrance feels like a house's side gate.
4) rooms and breakfast -
Rooms have a slightly dated feel. Furnishings are also a little old. But the room is clean, and spacious. And the bathroom is large. Amenities in the bathroom are basic. Juz shower foam, shampoo, soap and hand wash. With hair dryer, toothbrushes, shower cap and cotton buds. You may need to bring your own stuff. Power outlet here accepts both US' 110V and Singapore's 240v voltage. Weird. But convenient.
Breakfast is not like international hotel chain. Don't expect a huge variety of food. But they have freshly prepared smoothies, eggs (done anyway u want), sausages (tastes more like Chinese ngor hiangs - where u can see the minced meat, not like western sausages) and u muz try the Khmer rice soup. (Is boiled rice in soup stock. With accompanying condiments of basil, scallions, bird chillies, bean sprouts and lime). Yummy.
And breakfast is from 6.30 am to 10PM (yes. PM!). Meaning u can have a free meal any time. Need not b morning. U can sleep till 3pm if u want!!!
5) Spa and tuktuk -
Spa is so so. But cheap. Done on site at hotel. They have a small bldg with 2 spa beds for the massage services. For better massage, try sokkhak or bodia spa in town. More ex, but poshier.
Tuktuk service is necessary in siem reap. They don't have other forms of public transport. By having a free tuktuk attached to u, u also have no worries on the transport costs. Which means no haggling required. The tuktuk driver speaks English. You will have his cellphone number. But don't SMS him. He may not know how to spell that well. Call.
The driver also knows where are the usual places tourists go to. Including slightly out of the way places (I went to happy ranch horse farm, which is way out in the countryside and touiche restaurant, another out of the way place).
All in all, a REALLY REALLY REALLY good place to stay in if you are visiting siem reap. The staff are really friendly and tries to accommodate to your needs. I had late checkout till 2.30pm. And early checkin.
