So, we arrived at this hotel as part two of a five part east coast trip. I am a Gold Level Priority Club member. I prepayed for all our rooms and payed with my AMEX. We arrived with no issues. The hotel is under construction for an addition, parking is limited, but the hotel is in good shape. The rooms are traditional HIExpress, the floor was wet by the A/C unit, but I think its from the construction outside the window.
The issue was the second day. I receive a call while at the beach, stating that our reservation was for only one day. When we returned, I brought up my reservation and it was for the TWO days I thought. However, the hotel refused to honor the Pre-Pay price! They did what is commonly known as Scalping. They charge you more money than the price guaranteed by pre-pay. I called HI Cust Serv who did nothing, even though they saw the online two day reservation. Thier solution was for me to call my office in Oregon and have the paperwork faxed. I did that, not to HI but to AMEX, who quickly confirmed that my money would be refunded through them.
Do not trust this hotels staff or management. Even though its a clean property, they are dishonest people.
