“Outstanding!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

This is the best hotel in town. Hands down.
The only drawback may be that it is far from downtown (other people may consider this an advantage). But there's a few good restaurants nearby that you can go walking without any problem: Chalet Swiss and Jardin de Asia (highly recommendable both). The former is about 3 blocks away. The latter is located within hotel premises, but you will never find it unless you ask the concierge!
Breakfast is very good, but lunch or dinner are just good. Go elsewhere.
Bring your swim suit: the hotel has a large set of pools.

Room Tip: rooms near the swimming pool are a bit more expensive, but are closer to the lobby and have a great...

Good and dependable hotel for business travelers. Friendly staff, and friendly service. The rooms are fine and have all the amenities for business travelers. The AC is a bit too loud in the rooms. The food in the restaurant is good. Overall, the hotel has a bit of a 80's-90's flair, but this gives it a certain charm.

My host in Santa Cruz made the reservation for us. Hotel is vintage 1985. Nice property with good grounds. Room was the size, but every thing is outdated. The air-conditioner was effective but loud. Had a great breakfast buffet. Our main point was that it was out on the third ring and not near anything, and very expensive. After two nights, we moved to Senses, a boutique hotel on the central square. Lots of shops and rest as you walk to. This hotel is quite nice and about 60% of the cost of Los Tajibos. Our room overlooks the Cathedral.

I have been there in May 2013 . The room were renovated since my last visit in 2011. Now all the ground floor rooms have direct acces the pool, through a balcony window. Nice. The swimming poool is big enough although I was in a business trip, had a chance to take a bath.
The restaurant is a sort of caribbean style, open to the pool. I cannot imagine a windy day having breakfast! And you should know that the 5 stars category is a little generous compared to others international well known brands. But I recommend it. It's the BEST in Santa Cruz.

Room Tip: The ground floor rooms are the best!

I can't believe that this hotel cals itself a 5 star property. By who's standards I have no idea. While the grounds are nicely maintained and the pool is beautiful, the rooms, restaurant and service is more like a 2 star hotel at best. I have had better stays in roadside motels. Lets styart with the rooms that have not been remodeled in 25 years or so. The doors have hugh gaps in them so you here everything outside your door and I am sure everyone outside hears everything going on inside the rooms. The floor tile in both the bathrooms and bedrroms is super slippery so watch out when you are getting out of the shower or there is water on the floor. There are minimal electrical outlets to plug anything in and really no comfortable place to work on your computer in the rooms, not to mention thatyou have to leave your window open to get wifi service because of some tint they put on the windows. Beds are like sleeping on the floorthey are so hard and the pillows are like rocks. The countertop in the bathroom was stained and only has 1 sink with badwater pressure. The toilet seat would not stay up so everytime I went to the bathroom I had to hold it up. The worst part is they charge $230 for this torture!.
The restaurant was no better as the bread was stale and the bacon was like chewing on a piece of leather. When I informed the staff of the stale bread they said thats how they get it from the bakery, wow. I also asked to have yellow cheese with my omelet but they said that would be an extra since they only provide white cheese. I could not beleive what I was hearing and have never had such horrible When you walk in the hotel the staff is equally rude and nobody greets you, they just stare at you. My advise is if you are thinking of staying here, save your $$$$$ and sleep on a park bench, it will be more comfortable and you will be $230 a night richer.

A beautiful modern hotel with all the added extras that one could want. I arrived on a very hot day, so a swim in the pool was most welcome and enjoyable. The room was modern, well equiped and comfortable. Food in the main restaurant was excellent and was open 24 hours a day. This part of the service was tested when an early morning departure was needed and a full breakfast was available at 5.30am.

Met my daughter who lives in Cochabamba for a long weekend here. We had a poolside room, and it was delightful. Most important is to modify expectations - while a very nice hotel, it is not 5 stars by American standards, more like a 3.5/4 star. Our room was recently renovated, very comfortable beds and nice patio that was poolside. A nice buffet for breakfast which is included in the room price, and a lunch buffet which is not included but quite nice and reasonably priced as well. There is a spa, but fairly basic - I used the sauna to help with a cold that I acquired while traveling - and saw that there was a hair salon and massage available. My only complaint was the upcharge for taxis from the airport which was almost 50% higher than had we engaged the taxi on our own.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the poolside room on the first floor with our own patio - we did not notice any noise whi...
