“Disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

We arrived by boat on July 7th. We were seated on deck under the stairs and as soon as we were seated another table in front of us opened up so we asked the hostess if we could sit there. She cleaned the table and we were seated. After a few minutes we were informed that we would have to move because this table was reserved. It was not the young hostess fault, she was sweet. It was a bit embarrassing however, moving twice. The table under the stairs was next to the station where the owner/manager was constantly dipping a rag in questionable water to wipe down tables and actually complaining??? about the busy week they had!!!This was @ app. 3pm and we were informed that they were out of 4 of the 11 apps.. Wow! We actually felt as if our presence was in an imposition! We had drinks and apps and they did not even bring two plates. Food was okay. Bloody mary was excellent and lemon martini was just okay. We left asap and rode all the way across the lake to Lagos in Meredith. What a difference: we were greeted warmly and the service was exceptional. The food was superb also...but that is another review!

“over looks the lake”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

We choose to eat here because we were on a boat and we docked the boat outside the restaurant.
The views from the outside seating or window seats made it all worth while.
The menu had something for everyone. We ate mostly wraps, burgers, and salads each around $10. Everything looked good. No complaints. I ordered the clam and scallop plate and was glad that I did , $23. The cole slaw was very good; not loaded with mayo. There was plenty of fish on the plate and it was crispy and not greesy. I enjoyed every bite. They offered local brews and a complete bar.
The staff were very friendly who enjoyed the cute toddler that was with us.
There was only one bath for men and one for women. So when the line was long, women used the men's room. Very clean. I would eat there again if I were in the area.

“Hidden Gem-expect the unexpected”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

Exceptional food and service for the location. Because of the scenic and picturesque location with outside deck seating, I expected to pay for the great view with hopefully above average casual traditional food. Instead the menu was surprisingly creative with some great seafood and meat options. Service was outstanding and the food came out quickly. Wedge salad was fresh with nice presentation. Calamari, tuna, and coconut shrimp appetizers were well seasoned and delicious. The halibut was generous portion and cooked to perfection. Fried clams were crispy and melt in your mouth tender. Mango salmon was delicious. All this great food and service and a great view, atmosphere sitting on an outside deck over the water. This place got it all right. Awesome.

“Overpriced tourist rip-off”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

To be fair, the dessert and lake views were quite good. Everything else, though, was mediocre and over-priced.

Entrees are expensive ($18-30) and do not come with salad or even bread. Crackers and lousy dip are the only "freebies".

The food is frequently frozen or processed. Such as: Del Giorno-style processed ravioli, frozen or canned vegetables, highly questionable "duck", overly breaded crab cakes, Cool Whip "whipped cream", etc.

Presentation is uninspired. Think "Grandma's house"--and not in a good way.

Service is untrained, uninformed, and not attentive.

You will leave feeling like you got a very nice view of the Lake-- and thoroughly ripped off. Avoid!

“It's not about the food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

We've been stopping at Shibley's every year during bike week, ride around Lake Winnapausakee and stop in at Shibley's for lunch. We recommend eating on the back deck, no frills but good food, great service, great views and ice cold beer.
