“31st Anniversary Bliss”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

My husband and I spent 2 nights at this most wonderful B & B. From the moment we walked in the door we felt like we were in our best friend's home. The food was phenomenal down to the finest of details! They made us feel like a king and queen, but at the same time right at home! Bill, Kelli and Audrey are quite a trio! I miss them since we left and felt as if we made friends for life! Everything about our trip was nothing less than excellent! The accommodations were very comfortable and pleasant. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and will go back! It was a wonderful experience! Thanks!

This was my first time at a B&B and Rachel's was a perfect experience. Kelly was very personable and accommodating and talked to us like friends she'd known for years, making us feel comfortable and taken care of. We wanted a get-away in what we thought might be the middle of nowhere, and it kind of was compared to other places, but we had so much fun exploring the Elephant Rocks and Johnson's Shut-Ins nearby. Kelly sent us out on our day hike with biscuit, cheese, and bacon sandwiches and welcomed us back with delicious right-out-of-the-oven cookies. We had three private meals and lots of snacks prepared by Kelly herself. Kelly makes sure to make special dates for the couples for mealtimes. My favorite was breakfast the second day - apple stuffed french toast with fruit and eggs (thank you, Bill)! My boyfriend's favorites were both breakfast the first day (biscuits & gravy, potatoes, eggs, and bacon) and dinner (rib-eye steak - (Bill), seasoned green beans, scrumptious cheesy biscuits made by Kelly's daughter, and baked potato). We both loved Kelly's special amaretto cheesecake which we were more than delighted to enjoy on our drive home since we were so stuffed from dinner the night before and missed desert (which Kelly would have gladly provided had we communicated). We will definitely return to Rachel's B&B and we're blessed to have found such a haven! Oh, and I may add our bed was so comfortable and the sheets were so soft (and I once ran a fine linens business and know nice sheets!).

Room Tip: We stayed in the Mathima - it was just right. We poked our heads into the larger room near the main...

My wife and I spent our 25 wedding anniversary at Rachel's. Kelly was great from the planning (a surprise for my wife) to the actual stay, Kelly had gone above my expectation. The room was very comfortable, the food was great, and the whole experience will be a memory for many years to come. It will not be our last stay! Thank you Kelly!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Promise Room and it was great!

Our 25th Wedding Anniversary celebration at "Rachel's Bed and Breakfast" was a rich experience. Nothing quite compares to the warmth & friendliness of the hostess at "Rachels". My husband and I were very grateful for the engaging conversation we had with the owner prior to booking our accommodations. She shared information on what can be found in & around her tiny Ozark town of Annapolis and it sounded romantic. This destination has unlimited potential. Our trip did not disappoint; making our way through the picturesque hills & overlooks on the Black River & Clear Water Lake it 'wooed' us! As we approached "Rachels Bed and Breakfast"we were excited. The landscape was clean and the outside sculptures spoke romantic !
We had read about the warm cookies & warm smiles at this B&B. Our expectations paled when compared to the genuine kindness that is extended from the very moment you arive till the time you go.
We stayed in "The Main House" which evoked a New Orleans Jazz influence... from the music that softly sounds to the owners chosen decor. It is one of the most inviting atmospheres! We give a "A+" grade on the rooms...they breathe romance, and the food is phenomenal! We left feeling full in every way.
If you are looking for a romantic get away, this is a winner. Nessetled in "God's country" you are sure to enjoy it's beauty! We made some very special memories to be treasured forever! We will be back for sure.

Room Tip: Each Room has it's own feel,we stayed in the "Waterfall" and were very pleased. This on...

We wanted an intimate wedding and didn't want to worry about the stress of planning, so we booked the Elopement Package at Rachel's Bed & Breakfast. The wedding was beautiful, peaceful, and memorable! I loved the charm of this historic home decorated with antiques and elegance. The food was FABULOUS!!!! We were greeted with warm chocolate chip cookies, and had a HUGE steak dinner on the first evening (cheese biscuits, salad, green beans, loaded baked potato, cheese cake for dessert). We had two breakfasts which were each marvelous!!! (Stuffed french toast/sausage/fresh fruit and loaded scrambled eggs/ham/homemade toast/fried potatoes). Our room was a secluded, romantic paradise including a HUGE jacuzzi, private balcony, and a comfortable bed. Kelly, the owner, arranged for a pianist to play during our ceremony, made sure the minister knew what we wanted for our ceremony, and took photos and video (I can't wait to see the photos!!). The wedding cake and champange were wonderful touches! She obviously takes GREAT pride in her business and is friendly, professional, and made us feel at home. I can't wait to go back when the gorgeous gardens are in bloom and sit on the front or back deck and hop in the outdoor hot tub!

We first came to Rachel's Bed and Breakfast in 2008. The inn closed and we were disappointed, but then we found out Kelly had bought Rachel's. We stayed there last year on our anniversary and this year too. Everything was perfect!! Wonderful hospitality, a great setting, and delicious food!! If you are looking for a romantic getaway, Rachel's is the place for you!! We are already looking forward to our next stay.

Great food, very relaxing, and friendly welcoming hosts. Kelly catered to our every need and didn't make us feel like we were pestering her. The Food was AMAZING, everything from scratch with breakfasts that keep you full all day and more food than you can possibly eat, there will be no going hungry on her watch. The room was absolutely perfect as well. Easy to use fireplace, nice huge jacuzzi tub, comforting and relaxing decor. Simply stunning home filled with charm and class. We will be back.
