This hotel rates toward the lowest end of the Best Western franchises.
The good first:
Breakfast was quite good. Sausage, eggs, biscuit and gravy, and make it yourself waffles, plus the usual cold items.
The bed was comfortable enough.
The pool and pool room are nice enough though the pool is relatively small.
The mediocre next:
The spa, while large and of decent design, needs maintenance. The jets in the spa are not working properly, not jetting at all but just making a bunch of splashing around the edge of the spa. At first glance from a distance it might look like the jets work, but they don't.
Various fit and finish items around the hotel were clearly done rapidly and not checked for quality, then never reworked to make it right.
The front desk is often not staffed, even during daylight hours, with a phone to call someone to get them to the front desk, so you as the paying customer get to wait after phoning while someone (most likely the resident owner) comes from another room to serve the customer. If you can't afford to staff the front desk during daylight hours, you don't deserve to be a Best Western.
The room had a lingering damp/musty odor. Running the heater/AC on "dry" mode helped but did not eliminate it. No I did not complain to staff, I know the standard "fix" is to spray room 'sanitizer' which does nothing but briefly coverup the underlying problem. It wasn't bad enough to leave the hotel, but bad enough we won't be back, ever.
The last straw:
This last one is perhaps the largest irritant ... the second night of our stay we discovered our room keys had been deactivated. Since we had booked 2 nights online, and the woman on the front desk had repeated our 2 night stay as we checked in, this was an annoyance. When we went to the front desk to report it ... of course we had to call and wait for the same woman who checked us in to get to the front desk (It was not night, the time was late afternoon). Once we told her our room keys weren't working, she re-swiped our keys to reactivate them (THEY SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN DEACTIVATED), she handed them back, said "Here" and walked away, as if she was doing us some big favor for fixing the mistake SHE made. This, more than anything else, sealed this hotel as a "Never stay here again" hotel. Other staff at the hotel seemed friendly enough, especially the young man that was helping out one morning. This woman is the reason we will not stay at this hotel again. She was very less than welcoming when we checked in, and her attitude when our keys were shut off due to hotel staff error really p***ed off my wife.
