The hotel discussed in these reviews is no longer known as the Days Inn Albert Lea. It is now called the Albert Lea Inn. You can view the website for this hotel at www.albertleainn.com. The pool at the hotel is nice, and there are poolside rooms. We have stayed at this hotel several times since it became the Albert Lea Inn. The queen rooms we have stayed in were small, and the furnishings were older but clean. There is a free continental breakfast offered in the morning with coffee, juice, cold cereal, fruit, etc. It is average as far as continental breakfasts go. Perkins is nearby, and it would be a better breakfast - but certainly not free. The Green Mill Bar and Grill is across the street. The Albert Lea Inn is usually a little cheaper than the Country Inn and Suites and the Ramada located across the street. The hotel management is now local, and, in my opinion, they seem to be paying a bit more attention to things than when the hotel was a Days Inn.

What a terrible hotel. The first room we were in had dog food on the carpet, so no one vacuumed. Then there was mold and hair in the shower and on the shower curtain. The A/C unit had the curtains going right over it. So you either had the a/c unit going and have a view of the outside of you closed the curtains and had no a/c. The front desk switched our room but it really wasn't any nicer. Don't stay here!!!!

I was there for a friends wedding and though the rooms were a bit outdated they were comfortable and clean. The breakfast buffet in the morning was extremely inexpensive and delicious! But what really sold me was how beautiful and extravagant the reception hall facilities were done for her wedding. You wouldn't think so by just looking but this place is a diamond in the rough

Skip this hotel. The rooms, which might have been nice in 1980, haven't stood the test of time 20 yrs. later. Horrible bedding, burn marks in carpet (even though we were in a non-smoking room), a noisy and less-than-accomodating window A/C unit, curtains that do not hang correctly and a musty smell is what awaits you. In addition, you receive a complimentary continental breakfast which consisted of frozen Hostess-brand donuts, a few apples that didn't look that edible, packages of instant oatmeal, coffee and milk. Yum-O!
