“We'll definitely be back if we're in the area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2011

We enjoyed our 1 night stay at this Comfort Inn. The front desk was pleasant and helpful. Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The breakfast was very good with several food choices.

Stayed here a few nights ago and it is one of the most uncomfortably loud stays I have ever had. Let me start by saying that the hotel is in fine condition and the service is very good. I happen to like to be able to open the windows for some fresh cool air so requested a room away from the interstate. Big mistake! The parking lot for the very large truckstop is right behind the hotel. And by right behind I mean the trucks park overnight literally about 20 feet from your window!

The noise from their idling engines all night was so loud if you had the window open there was no way to hear the TV. Even with the window closed there was an unmistakeable hum all night long. Dont know if the interstate side is any better, but request that (even numbers) instead!

Room Tip: Bring ear plugs

We were happy to be able to book here since Comfort Inn’s are comfortable and this has a winning and outstanding level with Choice Hotels (a little ribbon is by their name on the choicehotel website.). Much was our surprise then, to find that even though we were in a non-smoking room, smoke in the hotel was still a problem. The smoking room and non-smoking rooms are NOT completely separated: in order words, some on top of or even directly across the hall from each other; thus, the smoke does travel into the non-smoking rooms. Then, too, since it was smoky in the halls, even when there was a non-smoking wing, it may well be that the housekeepers smoke while working; we have seen this elsewhere. Another guest demanded a change of room and was really complaining. However, the front desk clerk denied any smoke smell. She was also away from the desk for long periods: apparently she was alone, but we have never before seen the sign, to “please wait, I am somewhere else.” These 2 thigns should deny them the award ribbon.
Except for that, and an extremely small breakfast area, although the breakfast was great, it was a wonderful visit. Many Comfort Inns are now completely non-smoking, but this one is at a truck stop, so it will probably not happen

We stay here about 4 to 5 times a year when traveling to Minnesota. It's clean, comfortable, location is great, right off Interstates 35 & 90. The price is reasonable and service is friendly. We typically spend only 1 night here and do not have breakfast. So I cannot speak to longer stays or breakfast. As other people have mentioned; this is right next to a truck stop so expect to hear truck engines running all night but that is what earplugs are for. I do recommend making an advance reservation if planning to stay on a weekend night particulary during the summer. Most recently I booked 2 days out for a Saturday night only to be told the two rooms still available were the higher priced suites. This has happened once before to us when traveling on a weekend. All in all this is not an upscale place but it is clean and well kept, perfect for a night or two.

My daughter and her new husband went to check into their room at 2 a.m. on their wedding night, only to be told by a clerk that there was no room for them. They had been guarenteed a room after having 25 rooms booked for their wedding. they were met by a very rude employee that said "no room" and "nothing I can do for you". Needless to say, a beautiful day ended with poor management on their part and a rude employee. Thanks Comfort Inn, and employee Paty for your rudeness, thoughtlessness and complete disrespect for a couple that filled 25 rooms for you.

Room Tip: dont bother

This was a mistake of which the hotel takes full responsibility. It began with an innocent booking error, with the wedding party, and ended with the bride and groom not getting their room. Nothing like this has ever happened here before. The ownership and management are sincerely sorry and have done our best to atone to the bride and groom for this unfortunate mistake.

We stayed here for a deployment ceremony. The restaurant and convenience store next door is called "Trails" and it has everything you could need there from cold pop, to Cold Stone ice cream shop, to a hot meal. Nice pool. Extremely small workout room with only a cross trainer, treadmill, and exercise bike - but hey, it gets the job done I guess. Downside#1 -Got corrected for wearing only socks to breakfast - and told "If you want to be out here, you have to have shoes or slippers on." Alrighty, I just came out for a cuppa coffee, geez! (I have stayed in 5 star hotels all over and this seemed like an odd thing to bother a guest about). Downside #2 - We stayed in Room #100, and it smelled like a combo of dirty armpits and smoke. It wasn't a big enough deal to complain, however, but if you have sensitivities, you might want to bring an aromatherapy candle. The breakfast was good, but the staff was so busy filling and fussing over the tiny buffet area that they were in the way of guests. The breakfast area is very small, and crowded during our stay, with not enough room for guests to sit. So, get there early and get a table. Oh, and wear your shoes. : D My impression is that the are not used to being this busy, being in a small town, and that they were doing their best to accomodate. We would stay here again, and would recommend it to those who want convenience to restaurant/grocery, a filling breakfast, and to those who want a nice pool.
