This is the student hub of the university town, with coffee shops, bookstores, U of M insignia shops (these are not just tee shirt shops!), and two movie theatres, one of them, the Michigan Theatre, offering old, classic films. The theatre itself is worth the price of admission. It's been beautifully restored. To enjoy the flavor of Ann Arbor requires at least a few hours spent in the State St/Liberty St. area. Just be careful of those parking meters. I had difficulty using them (these are not the old-fashioned, put a quarter in the meter kind). And they are not shy about handing out parking tickets!
