“Funky - great breakfasts”

A little strange looking - BUT - don't let that stop you. Pet friendly outside summer dining. Wonderful staff . Hint Get the hippie giro hash with an extra egg - divine!!

“Likeable place, not great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2012

This is just what it says -- a diner -- but it is a cramped diner, and the food is fine, nothing special. Still, we often return.

“Ambiance is the best-food is not”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2012

For an authentic Ann Arbor experience, visit the Fleetwood Diner on a snowy morning before 8:00 a.m. You will see all kinds of characters--some of them have been there all night, and the foul-mouthed waitress is one of a kind. (To be fair--she is fast and efficient and will bang the food down in front of you ASAP.) The food ranges from acceptable to suspicious--that morning the hash browns tasted very funny. But don't let that stop you--it's a place where the kitchen workers are not hidden from view, and the strategic corner location provides non-stop entertainment. Go! You won't be sorry!

“An Ann Arbor institution”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2011 via mobile

OK, let's start off by saying that it is impossible to "rate" the Fleetwood using the same scales as other restaurants. Case in point - "Atmosphere". I rated it a 5 because that is really why most people go there, to "experience" the unique Fleetwood atmosphere. However I could have just as easily rated it a 1 because, if it were not for the Fleetwood's rich cultural history it could easily be mistaken for a dirty, run-down dive (heaven forbid!).

The Fleetwood allows for some of the most interesting cultural voyeurism around, particularly if experienced during the proper 1:00 am to ? am timeslot. The food is actually pretty good if you're not expecting continental cuisine, and the bathrooms aren't much worse than Dominick's.

“HIPPIE HASH ALL THE WAY”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2011

I've been to fleetwood more than seven or eight times....all past midnight ;) not because it's the only one open past midnight that's around where i live, but because i love their hippie hash so so so much. i guess i have bad cravings for hippie hash when i'm not sober. sometimes there can be too many unpleasant drunk people in the restaurant. but besides that, i love fleetwood!
