Tucked around behind other retail (Cost Plus World Market, which is a very fun store to visit) and business offices, right off South State St. near Briarwood Mall, just north of I-94 is a fabulous and beautiful restaurant! Mediterrano's menu combines the tastes of 14 Mediterranean countries into an innovative and delicious menu. The interior is very attractive and soothing, and the food is amazing. My daughter and I have had lunch there several times, and are always so pleased with the service and wonderful food. We met for lunch today and shared the Cold Poikilia "small plate", which was a big, beautiful array of hummus, satziki and olive tapenade with wonderful thin pita wedges, olives, toasted walnuts, and lovely crunchy cucumber wedges. She ordered the (also from the small plates) crab cakes (2), which were made of jumbo lump crab, with blood orange segments and a fennel salad with romesco sauce. They were pan cooked, not fried, and mainly pure crab meat. I ordered the lamburger which was house-made Greek Loukanika sausage, put on 3 sweet little buns, and each had a different intricate and amazing sauce. It also came with a Greek Salad, which was made of olives, very thinly sliced green, red, and orange peppers, tomatoes, red onions, soft feta, cucumber and other things, with a tasty light dressing.
Of course we brought home enough for another meal for each of us, but tasting so many delicious flavors was a real treat. It's not inexpensive, but I think the décor, service, and flavor surpass that of many of the more expensive restaurants on Main Street.
