“Greenfield Inn--- Good Value, Good Food, Good Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

Four of us, stayed here for two nights, while visiting the Henry Ford Museum. This was a last minute idea and I booked the rooms less than 24 hours in advance. Despite that, the Inn was able to accommodate an early check-in, with adjoining rooms. The outside appearance of the hotel was a little disconcerting (all pink), but the rooms were great, with a refrigerator, microwave, 42" TV, and very comfortable beds. The hotel also has an indoor pool and sauna, which look to be new.
We ate two dinners and two breakfasts there as well as having drinks in the lounge. All of the staff were friendly and prices were very reasonable.
We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Our room was an inside room, in the middle of the hotel, on the first floor. It had easy access to o...

Hello,

Thank you for the great review. We have been locally known as the "Pink Palace" for over 20 years now and we believe it adds to the charm and uniqueness of the hotel, so don't let the color scare you! The 42" flat screens and microwaves are new amenities that we just added along with Keurig coffee makers so we appreciate that you enjoyed them. I hope you come back and see us again in the future.

Thank You,

I stayed here for a night while passing through Detroit. It's an odd place with a pseudo-Victorian style but the room was comfortable. The staff was nice and it's close to the airport (next to a Belle Tire if you happen to need some new rubber). I didn't have time to check out the amenities (and there seemed to be quite a few). If nothing else, it's a bit more interesting than many of the cookie cutter hotels out there.

I stayed for 4 nights during February and was a bit skeptical before my arrival. I had expected it to be a sort of kitsch hotel (it being the pink palace and everything) but it was actually quite good. It's a big place, build in colonial style. I opted for an executive room - but not sure it was much better than a standard room (think it's slightly bigger and comes with a couch vs a chair).
Even if located right next to the I-94 the traffic noise wasn't that bad (at least indoor). The hotel also featured a nice recreational area - must admit I didn't get a chance to try it out but lots of other people seem to have a good time there. The food (in the O'Henry's restaurant) was pretty standard - but not bad. And the staff were all very nice and helpful. Plenty of free parking spaces around the hotel (onsite) as well. Very likely will choose this hotel again.

Room Tip: I stayed at the ground floor and would perhaps recommend asking for a top floor room to avoid the no...

I stayed at this pink monstrosity last month for 3 days. The room rate was very reasonable. The room itself was clean and the bed comfortable. Room service was prompt and inexpensive. I had corned beef hash and eggs for breakfast one morning and it was delicious. Compared to the city of Detroit, this place is glorious.

Unfortunately, the front desk is entirely occupied by sour-faced, possibly disturbed individuals. And I must've walked a mile to get from my room to the entrance/exit. Since I like walking, and I'm amused by millions of pictures from the 70s of old model T cars parked in the countryside, this wasn't much of a problem.

If I were you, and I needed to be in Greenfield for some reason, I'd book my stay here. Beware of the parking lot for guests. There's a blind curve there.

Hello,
I appreciate you taking the time to review our hotel. I am glad you enjoyed some of the aspects that make our hotel unique. However, your comment saying “the front desk is entirely occupied by sour-faced, possibly disturbed individuals,” is very offensive to both me and my staff. Tripadvisor is a fantastic tool for travelers to relate their personal experiences. Constructive criticism is vital to help us improve, whether it is good or bad. Saying you had a bad experience with a member of the staff and relating that experience is constructive criticism. Calling an entire staff disturbed is insensitive and not beneficial for either party. If you experienced a certain problem during your stay with the entire staff you are more than welcome to e-mail me about it at hbliss@bestwesterngreenfield.com.

Though working in Detroit, it was advised to stay near Dearborn. I found this hotel though our travel agent. It was only about 10-15 minutes from downtown Detroit and our work location.

Note: It is like a giant pink castle!

Check-in was seamless, though a little sterile. (Still have yet to get a welcome snack as a Platinum Rewards member at any Best Western!)

Walking to the room, you could see that the property would be very nice in spring through fall. They have a nice pond and gazebo on the grounds. The room itself is worthy of a Best Western "Plus" rating. Updated amenities and HOT water. Beds are comfortable and they each had a lot of pillows on them (important!).

One bonus over staying in downtown is that they have a gated parking lot with free parking.

Another bonus (and it's a big one) is that they have incredible cheeseburgers in the restaurant, and plenty of beers on tap (including two local brews).

Downside - Like everywhere now, no "smoking" rooms available.

Room Tip: For smokers, choose rooms in the 150+ room number range. Close to a back door you can step out of.

Every thing and everybody is nice. Fun time with the grandchildren. Close to Greenfield village and museum. Swimming and hot tub inside so relaxing or just sitting around in that area. Will go back again.
