“Had everything we needed...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2011

We stayed here in August as part of a baseball road trip. From the route we chose, the entry seemed a little questionable, and I had never seen a pink Best Western before! But we loved just about everything about it. The location was great -- right off the interstate so maybe a 15 minute drive to Comerica Park and a very easy drive to the Henry Ford Museum. After a long drive from the Northeast, we decided to relax in the lounge for the evening -- pizza and beer -- comfortable, reasonable, and no more driving. The rooms were very comfortable and warmly decorated, amenities abound, and the staff very friendly and accommodating. We stayed for two nights so were able to get a rate reduction -- very nice. We opted out of the hotel breakfast (not complimentary); a nearby Leo's Coney Island was suggested and it certainly fit the bill. I did not give this 5 stars for only one reason. Because it is a non-smoking facility, all the smokers seemed to congregate outside a particular side entrance and this seemed to filter its way into the guest rooms. That was, for me, the only negative point. We totally enjoyed our stay here and we would definitely return.
One additional point regarding the staff: A medical emergency occurred on the property while we were in the lobby. It was handled very promptly and professionally by the desk staff. Definitely a well-trained group of employees!

Room Tip: Saw previous comments about highway noise however we had no issue with that.

Clean, big rooms. Great location for The Henry Ford museum etc. Big outlet mall nearby. Obviously as with everything in the US, you need a car to get anywhere. 15 mins drive to Detroit centre.

Motel has a great value package: nice room, breakfast, close to an Interstate, and shuttle to the Henry Ford Museum.

Motel had nice, clean, sizeable, quiet room. Breakfast was in a restaurant, rather than a lunch room. There was a nice size indoor pool and spa facility. Would stay there again without question.

We were going to the Henry Ford museum, which was about 10-15 minutes away, but took the motel shuttle and saved the $5 parking fee, plus didn't have to drive. Shuttle took about 15 minute wait, so call a few minutes before you need it.

This is a nice hotel and good value. A little rough in spots, mostly in shower area. But would stay here again!

Most comfortable stop over with the added bonus of supper provided in the lobby. Very tasty and the first we have experienced such generosity. Room and facilities as well as friendliness of the staff made our stay even more enjoyable.

Room Tip: Very memorable stay

We were in town for the weekend and liked the fact that we were only 9 miles from Comerica Park/Ford Field. We were back to the room before our relatives were on the expressway home. The room was clean and when we looked at the mattress for bed bugs, it was completely zipper sealed. The restaurant had a wide variety of entrees and the food was very tasty. We were impressed with the Nautilaus exercise equipment. There is a new mall just across I-94 which had good shopping--not to mention the great food at Panera Bread. They will also take you to the airport with an overnight stay. We made reservations through Orbitz and got a great deal. Definately, we would stay there again.

Room Tip: Although the hotel has very good soundproofing from I-94, I would be sure to ask for a courtyard roo...

When we got out of the car, the first thing we noticed was the pink. And we loved it! When we got checked in, they greated us with freshly baked cokkies. We got a room with two double beds (for the four of us). The bathroom was also better than I expected, I thought it was going to be a bit messy but it was actuly very nice with a lot of space. However when we went down for dinner we weren't 100% pleased. When my little sister ordered her chocolate milk, it came with wipped cream and rainbow sprinkles, only one waitress knows how to do this though. The dinner was really good except the hot dog was still cold. We slept very well that night. In the morning the breakfast was fine, but not as good as I would've liked. That night we went to the pool, wich was nice but a bit dark. After dinner we went outside and played board games in the little garden area. Mylittle sister and I even put on a little dance preformance in that area for our grandparetns. This was a fantastic stay!

If you are staying two nights or more then the front desk with give you vouchers to go to the museum and village, whichis included in the price of your stay. While you are the museum or village and you need to get back, just call the pirate shuttle any time you desire and they will come and get you.
