“Come for the atmosphere and stay for the food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013 via mobile

I stayed at the Beehive for 3 weeks. Originally I came to stay in Sucre for 3 day but 3 days turned into 3 weeks thanks to the Beehive. The Breakfast at the Beehive is fantastic!!! Saturday morning Pancakes were my Favs!! And the people who run and volunteer at the place are pretty awesome too!
There is plenty of space to stretch out and relax. There is a public space on the first floor of the hostel so if you happen to meet new friends outside of the hostel you can still bring them over to hang out in the public space as most hostels you are not allowed guests at all.
The garden is a nice place to relax sit in the hammock or in the deck chairs and enjoy the fantastic weather.
The beehive is a very relaxed place to come and stay, lots of people cook dinners together and there always seems to be something going on! Wally is one of the all time favorite activities the Beehive participates in weekly! Along with Pilates, language exchanges, BBQ or other type of food nights!
The Beehive is great!

i came for 3 days and stayed here for 3 weeks.
This isnt your typical hostel, this place is like your home away from home.
Beehive hostel, is where you meet great people, having an amazing BBQ, sitting down for dinner with great people and relaxing for the rest of your eve.
Suzy & Amanda the 2 amazing owners, going the extra mile on a daily bases to make sure that you feel comfortable and happy.
The breakfast here are another reason to stay here- they dont serve you the tipical south american breakfast. Suzy & Amanda have a speical brakefast menu that you can choose from.
if you want to know why its such a great brakefast- well you just going to have to come here and see for your self!!!
one last thing- Beehive is the best hostel in Sucre, and i wish i could stay longer.
All i can say is that i will miss this place
Simo.

I stayed for eight days in the Beehive in Sucre. The place is really clean and beds are comfortable! The place has a great community feel to it and you can make new friends easily. I participated in cooking some Mexican food one night, and I was impressed at how many people came and also how many people go to workshops and other events there. It's a place to stay and build community, whether it's short period or long-term. Beehive is also close to a movie theatre (worked great for me cause I'm so used to at least watching tv back home), a super mercado, and downtown museums. Beehive also serves a delicious breakfast every morning!

Just want to say thank you to the Beehive staff and the volunteers, you keep the place really nice and facilitate people travels needs really well!

Room Tip: All rooms are pretty good. Just make sure you're close to the windows if you want more light or...

An excellent place to stay, especially for an extended period of time. The owners work hard to offer lot's of activities to the guests, and provide lot's information to help you make the most of your time in Sucre.

Best hostel breakfast in south America. A great place to take Spanish classes and they even have Pilates classes twice a week. The place is clean and the facilities are really nice. I ended up staying for over 2 weeks.

I've stayed at many hostels around the world and this one is by far my favourite. The beds were good, the common areas were perfect, the atmosphere was great and the breakfast was totally awesome. If I had more time on this trip, I definitely would have stayed more than 6 nights!
I guess it is fairly expensive for bolivian standards (65 BOB), but it is absolutely worth it in my opinion.

Yeah. Totally loved it.

Yes, a nice breakfast for free in Bolivia! This is the Beehive's main point of difference, the staff do great breakfast and good service well. The property was very quiet, tranquil and relaxing, perfect for learning Spanish. We stayed in the charming private room and had an exceptionally comfortable bed. It's the oldest part of the house so the shower was temperamental and mostly lukewarm. We sometimes got 1 bar of wifi reception in the room but it worked better in the common area. It was perhaps a little too pricey and low key for us so we moved closer to the action in the end. Overall a lovely place though, around 5 blocks from the main plaza and with a beautiful front garden.

Room Tip: Dorm rooms upstairs are probably quieter. We got woken up each morning by staff ringing the bell to...
