Sucre was our first stop in Bolivia and arriving at Casa Verde was a great start to our trip. The location is great - very central but not directly in the middle of the action, so it's quiet but still within walking distance of the main area. It is very safe, the rooms are clean and the showers had plenty of hot water. There are several common areas, including a pool, courtyard and dining room. Although we didn't use it, I saw others using the kitchen so I think it may be available for anyone to use.
The breakfast was also good and the lady who served us was very nice. It included bread, juice, coffee/tea and eggs, with an option of paying a bit more if you wanted more food. We found the regular amount to be very filling, but it's nice to have an option of ordering more if you are still hungry.
The owner, Rene, was great. He was around most of the time we were there and always available to answer questions. He showed us to our room and also showed us how the key to the main door worked - it wasn't rocket science, but did involve a trick or two, so it was very nice of him to take the time to show us how it worked so we wouldn't be stuck outside trying to figure it out. He was also very helpful with giving us advice on bus tickets and calling a taxi for us in the morning. Overall, he really made a significant contribution to our stay in Sucre as it was great to have someone that was happy to answer questions for us - especially nice that he could answer them in fluent English. :)
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to Sucre. In our experience, it was one of the best places we stayed at in Bolivia.
