“Great food, great ambiance, great experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

We thought we had booked for the Culinary Flight, but it was a dinner at Al Mahara. Afterwards we were happy with that. We were not willing to leave our table! What a unique restaurant. And what a view. We chose the menu "Tastes of Al Mahara 'with pairing wines. Fine cuisine, perfect combinations with beautiful wines. Extremely friendly service. A night never to forget. Prices are firm, but in line with those of top restaurants around the world. Al Mahara has an impressive wine list with all the great wines of the world. These are (everywhere in Dubai) extreme expensive. The affordable wines are of good quality.

“Greatly over-priced”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

The restaurant is situated in the basement of Burj al arab. The restaurant is kind of over-decorated and simply too much. We had a nice table beside the breathtakingly aquarium.

We went for a set menu with seven meals and matching wine package. The taste of the food was exquisite and perfect, and the wine pairings were also perfect.

The waiters were very polite, but way too snobbish for my taste. When I told them, in the middle of the meal, that I wanted smaller portions and less wine, because there were so much food and wine, they did not listen to my wish.

For me this was a once in the lifetime experience, because I think paying £600 for a dinner for two is way too overpriced. This place is definitvely the place for very rich people, or for very special occassions. Will probably not go back.

“Basement restaurant in Burj Al Arab - Over Priced”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

Its known restaurant in Burj Al Arab but it gives you a congested feeling everywhere. The food was normal but the staff was very helpful and explaining about the preparations etc in detail. We were in the private room with 18 people with great expectations but since its in Burj Al Arab but the entire experience was normal. The only thing noticed was the weight of the bill. As per the dress code men must wear a jacket but the tiny room with 18 people was warm after few hours and funny that the staff politely advised us not to remove the jackets. The Madinath Jumeirah near by are super in all means and decently priced compared to Burj.

“A paradise for a food and wine lover”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

We had the "Taste of Al Mahara" menu with pairing wines and we were as good as in a paradise. Every course is explained in details and every wine as well. The pairing wines-courses is excellent and is worth the price.
As a conclusion, I can't find anything wrong with this restaurant!

“good food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

Nice fish tank, we had business lunch there. We ordered sea bass and angus beef as main course, pan fried scallop as appetizer, chocolate with chestnut sauce as dessert. Food is great.
