Spent one night in this hotel. Arrived very late in the night, reception was very helpful. The room was traditionally decorated and the bed was comfortable, slept like a baby. The morning brought a hearty breakfast, in a covered interior terrace, served by smiling and funny staff. I liked very much the idea of covered terrace- gives you the feeling of a "courtyard", although it is under AC. Without AC, the summer in Dubai is unbearable. The whole hotel is in a traditional arabic house, it was a good opportunity to learn about the architecture and the authenticity of the city. I am not impressed by the luxurious and opulent Dubai style, so this hotel fit exactly my style: comfortable, clean, easy to reach, with helpful staff.
The art gallery was very cozy, saw few pieces that I would have taken home and hang in my living room.
My time there was short, but I felt very, very good. I would definitely come back again and I will recommend it to my friends and to anyone looking for a nice accomodation in Dubai.
The only thing that I would have loved this hotel to have is their own parking. I arrived after midnight and the public parking close to the hotel was full. I needed to spend another 30-40 minutes in search for a parking place, in a completely unknown neighborhood. I know it is not their fault, they are in the historical area, but maybe they can convince the authorities to give them some exclusive parking.
