“Good value hotel with clean rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

My partner and I stayed here for a few nights on our way through Dubai.

On the internet, the rooms looked nice, and the hotel was nice and close to old town and just a few hundred meters to a modern metro train station.

The service was very good. Actually the driver waited at the airport for us for nearly 2 hours while we tried to get through an incredibly slow customs. I didn't get too much of a sense of people here wanting a tip, which for me is preferred.

Our room was on the 7th floor. The room was tidy, and the bed was super comfortable. Double layered curtains meant we could be in almost a completely dark room in the middle of the day to catch up on some travel winks also.

Everything went as expected, and if you're looking for an ok hotel without spending a fortune in Dubai, then this is a great place to stop by.

I can't comment on the breakfast since we didn't eat at the hotel, but the coffee in the downstairs was ok. With that being said, there is some room for improvement with the cafe service. Coffee - we like it fast and hot. 10 minutes for a short black is a bit strange when there are no other customers.

Room Tip: Ask for a room up high a bit away from the street traffic below. Its not a very busy street, but up...

Very clean hotel in the middle of town although street and alley ways to get there feels dodgy.check in staff have a problem with trusting their client insisted I pay before I checked out though room was held by my card! (not very 4 star)
Was upgraded to an executive room .rooms r not sound proof so u hear people making loud noises.Downside was that I arrived at 5am and the hotel could not assist with where I could stay till check in and I had to pay for an extra day though I only spent 4 hrs in the room before I went for an early morning meeting .think the hotel should consider half day room prices.
There event centre is close to the lobby reception and breakfast area and was very loud when I was trying to rest at the lobby.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your feedback on your stay at the Flora Grand Hotel !

We are happy to note that you had a satisfying stay. I have noted about the areas of improvement mentioned by you and would certainly look at how we should better those areas. The deposit being taken at check in is as per policy and it is a common practice across all the hotels in Dubai.

We look forward to welcome you again at the hotel !

Warm Regards,

First the location which is the biggest plus- it's 20 steps from the nearest metro Al Rigga station...and that means a lot when you are in Dubai because distances between two locations are high and the taxis therefore turn out to be expensive if you intend to explore the length and breadth of the city! The first time around we had a bit of an issue locating the hotel because it is in an inside lane and not on the Main Street...but the tip to travellers is..walk out of Al Rigga station and straight till you see a fast food joint called Popeyes ...turn right in that lane, and take a left..that's where you'll see the hotel
Second, the staff was helpful- I did not have a phone charger so they helped me with one immediately
Thirdly, the rooms were good- nice and clean, though the fixtures seemed a bit old and there would be some water leakage from the tub...but overall satisfactory
Fourthly on food- we did not eat in the hotel much as the area around the hotel had restaurants that were open till 4-5 am!! And shops open till 12 am...so we would shop and eat and hit the bed by 1.30 types :-) however we had the breakfast on one of the days and it was good..decent spread while I think the assortment of fruits could have been much better

the hotel itself is located in a very nice area, close to metro and many fast food restaurants, staff was really helpful and i got help in managing my sight-seeing attractions. breakfast was good though but the variety wasn't enough. my overall experience stays quiet good. the hotel is recommended whether you are travelling with family or with friends, it is a good treatment.

The hotel is reasonably located near by the metro and adjacent to a shopping rigga road. The room was clean, but TV service was not good as changing over through channels was not convenient. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Unfortunatly wi fi was not a standard sevice and i had to pay for it !! Breakfast was ok.
In general it was a good hotel with good value of mony.

We felt very welcome in this hotel. The service was excelent. I still don't know why, but we were given an upgrade, so our room was even better than expected. It was spacious and clean and the airco was working fine and not too loud. There was some fruit and water when we arrived. The swimming pool on the roof is a nice extra and open until 22:00 pm.
Although it was very early when we left, about 5:30 am, we could use the breakfast facilities.
Too bad you always see guests who are thinking that they are king and that the people who work in a hotel are slaves. This is even more annoying when the staff is doing their very best to make everybody happy.
Anyway, a very pleassant stay!

This hotel is in a great location in the Creek area. The family room was large and clean. Access to the airport and surrounding malls is convenient. The breakfast was basic but good quality. We found the staff very friendly and helpful.
