York international is Good property in respect to Location as nearby many restaurants are available and subway station at walking distance and also entertainment at its best for the night . The reception ,Room service , cleaning staff are very co-operative, helpful and well mannered .
The problem lies in the rooms which are small and looks very old , as for sure hotel has become old, needs Renovation completely .
Breakfast needs to improve a lot which is just ok . It has many nightclub and Lounge which is an advantage only for solo travelers and Business people , Families still can very well manage but only in evening time its very crowded at the lobby area were the Bars and lounges are situated .The people who arrange tours for sightseeing are extremely nice and reliable,
i really had great time going around Dubai .Overall experience was good but surely this hotel has good advantage of location but really needs renovation ASAP.

Room Tip: upper floors as the disco downstairs will disturb surely

I stayed at the York International Hotel from Thursday 2 April to Saturday 4 April. For the most part the stay was pretty decent until i had the misfortune of forgetting my red bag in their wardrobe. I realized that i had forgotten it when i reached the airport. Normally under such circumstances one would assume that the trustworthy hotel staff would locate the missing item and a method to return it would be arranged. No such luck!

Not only did they deny seeing the bag which i know full well i had left in the wardrobe, they repeatedly claimed to "have not found it". Which leads me to this conclusion, someone the house keeping staff is a thief. If you are attracted by the low prices offered at this hotel i tell you there are other similarly priced hotels within the vicinity which probably have a more trustworthy house keeping staff. I am disgusted by the way the handled the loss of my bag. Their staff steal! If you want to go home with some items missing. Or if you want to say goodbye to anything that you forget this hotel is perfect.

If you made the same mistake i did and are already staying there, make sure you keep your bags locked and you don't forget anything. You will not see it again. Trust me, i am speaking from experience. Someone on their staff will be sending a nice new bag to their relatives.

I saw a lot of negative reviews on here, but thought I'd save money and risk it, after seeing a very cheap deal.

I had a very positive experience, with regards to the complaints others have made, I was seen straight away, I was on the 4th floor so noise wasn't an issue and I was more than happy with the cleanliness and quality of the room (the only minor issue was that the most convenient socket didn't work, but there were others)

The included breakfast was great, with lots of variety.

Considering the price, I'm not sure what people expect.

Although if you were on a lower floor I imagine sound would be an issue.

Room Tip: 4th floor or above due to noise

I waited for an hour before I was served by the reception staff. My impression was that they would rather be somewhere else. There was no enthusiasm in their faces or in their work. The reception area itself is small and unattractive. The bellboy on the other hand was very gracious and helpful. There are two or three discoes on the ground floor and a bar or nightclub on the first floor. The air conditioning in my room did not work. However the room itself appeared clean and tidy.

Room Tip: Get a room on the upper floors if you want quietness.

First impressions: I couldn't find reception it was so dark. A girl sat behind the counter doing paperwork, looked at waiting guests occasionally with no acknowledgement while talking in her own language to the man (very pleasant) who was checking people in. This is just plain rude. The room was spacious enough but the bed hadn't been changed and the toilet was dirty. I asked for a nonsmoking room and got one that wreaked of smoke. Overall the hotel was dingy and badly in need of renovation. Don't be fooled by the exterior. There was supposed to be a minibar but the fridge was empty. I went to the bar for a beer and was immediately set upon by two African hookers who wouldn't leave me alone. It was then I noticed the bar was wall to wall hookers. This place is a dive.

Room Tip: Pay a bit more and go elsewhere. You won't regret it.
