“Amazing, especialy the pinguins encounter!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

We went there for the Pinguins encounter, which is new and unique in the world! I took the VIP experience, which alows you to spend a good hour with the pinguins, caressing and feeding them. You also have a private tour with all the informations you can imagine about the pinguins. It's very interesting as you're learning a lot about them and you can interact with them.
We did it with our 4 and 6 years old daughters and it's been a great moment for all of us. The other great thing with the VIP package is you're alone with the pinguins, have a photograph with you all the time and all the pictures are included in your package (private camera/pictures are not allowed in the pinguins area).
About the cold, I was wearing a short and a t-shirt, but they provide warm clothes... the pant is warm, but not the top, so when you're at -3C you might regret not bringing a long sleeve t-shirt or a sweatshirt with you... Concerning the feet, they provide snow shoes and socks, but you will leave the place with your feet wet (take an extra pair of socks for after...). They have lockers to drop your bags,...
To book it, you can try the Skidubai website, but the online booking wasn't working yet when I've tried, so I had to call to book it in advance.

“Snow skiing in the desert?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

Dubai is a pretty crazy place, and if you must get a ski fix while it's boiling hot outside this is the place. All the ski gear is included in the price, except for gloves, they cost extra.
The skiing itself was a fun experience, though the run is a little short for a regular skier. You can also have a penguin experience and cuddle their cute penguins

“Strange but wonderful”

Just fun to say you've ski-ed - in a desert country, in a shopping mall, in a completely man-made environment!

“Just didn't get it”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

Unfortunately we went when it was the Eid holidays and the place was absolutely packed. Started off well...... The staff take one look at you and hand over your correct sized snow outfit and boots along with socks and fleece gloves (I wish I'd packed my thermal vest for the holiday though!). Now I'm sure that if you're a medium skier or you want a lesson then it could maybe be fun but the kiddie slides are far too short and while we were visiting there were almost fights breaking out, queue jumping, idiots trying to get their kids on the snowball ride even though there is a strict height and age policy. I felt sorry for the staff who managed to stay polite throughout!
