The Peshwa boasts of ALL Maharashtrian cuisine. We tasted Bombil Fry, a crispy fried Bombay Ducks melting in the mouth.Probably it would add value if they debone it and fry.Prawns in Green Chutney were spicy and superb.Mutton Saoji is a dish from the Vidarbha region which was very pungent and tasty. The Goan fish curry was just right but bigger King Fish slices would enhance the taste. The Mutton Sukha was excellently spiced and mouthwatering. The Kolhapuri Chicken Kebabs were tangy and succulent.
The quantities served could be better.
The decor is very pleasing. Artistic use of "Paithani" is made on the tables with a glass strip top.The walls are decorated with Maharashtrian History. Pagree (A Headgear) and Uparne (Scarf) is used imaginatively to decorate the walls. Paintings are exquisite.
The owner Ms. Shreya Joshi is looking after the place personally thus adding a personal homely touch to the eatery. The place can seat around 200 persons but only half the seating is provided with lots of open space in front and all around.
It also has a small party hall.
We met the husband wife duo -Sachin & Shreya Joshi- who were very hospitable. The Dudhi Halwa (Bottle Gourd Sweet) and Basundi (Sweetened Milk) was a fitting end to the rich repaste.
The Menu boasts of typically Maharashtrian dishes like Dashmya, Bajri & Jawari chi Bhakri, Ukad to name a few.
All in ALL, exquisite and tasty home food right in the heart of Dubai.
