“Big disappointment”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

We visited Wild Wadi 11 years ago and had a fab day, so when we returned to Dubai with our 8 year old in October we thought she would love it. Sadly, our day consisted of a 1.5 hour queue in the searing heat to enter the park and 3 further hours of queuing to go on three rides. When you do get to the front of the queue, the rides are excellent, but I’m not convinced the 3 rides were really worth the 220 dirham (each) entrance fee.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

I have spent lot of my weekends here and this is the place to be in any season. I never feel like coming out even if they make evacuation announcements :p . I like everything there, specially the flood river, jumeirah sceirah, lazy river and wave pool. Nice food options available. great service and friendly staff.

“Very Disappointing. Save your (significant amount of) money!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

Wild Wadi was supposed to be one of the highlights of our short family holiday in Dubai. What a disappointment, though. We queued for 30 minutes just to get in, then very long queues for all the rides - not that there is that much choice of rides.
However, in case queuing to get on the rides isn't miserable enough, the rides themselves then jam up due to the number of riders, so you end up going around the course in a series of stop-start phases, which totally ruins the flow and any excitement of the ride.
In 5 hours on site we only managed to get 5 rides.
The solution to this problem is so simple - just limit the number of people entering the park! Unfortunately the operators don't seem to care whether their customers actually get value for money, instead cramming the place with as many unsuspecting punters as they can.
We are not a family of whingers and we certainly expect to queue at any theme park, but this was the worst example of profiteering at the cost of quality and value that we've ever experienced.
Think VERY carefully before parting with your £40+ per head!

Dear Chalfont,
We are very sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the capacity management of Wild Wadi Waterpark.
There are a few holiday seasons during the year when we tend to have very high demand. It appears that you may have visited us during this season. During this time both Wild Wadi and many other businesses in Dubai are extremely busy. We have a set capacity based on the our ride throughput, seating capacity, and safety regulations. Once we reach this number, the Admissions gate is instructed to allow guests entrance in a 1 in-1 out basis to make sure we do not overcrowd Wild Wadi. We are sorry that you still felt it was overcrowded.
For more pleasant experience during future visits, we recommend early arrival. We have conducted analysis of our footfall and recognize that we are the busiest between the hours of 12:00 PM- 4:00 PM. In addition, similar to a mall and a movie theater, our park is very crowded during peak tourist seasons and weekends. If you are planning to come during a high demand period, we recommend coming as early as possible to ride popular attractions without queues.

Regarding your comment about the variety of our rides, the design of Wild Wadi interconnects all of our slides. This style of rides was a world first back when we opened in 1999. There is a queue for the first slide, and then that slide connects to 12 other slides without ever having to get out of your tube. If you were to go to almost any other waterpark in the world, you would ride 1 slide, then have to get out and walk up a tower to the start of another ride and then queue again (sometimes up to 1-2 hours for each ride). We may have not done a good job of explaining the interconnection of our slides…this is very unique and allows our guests to ride many slides with minimal wait times (in comparison to other waterparks around the world).

We will certainly pass your comments to our management team to reassess our capacity and improve the communication of our slides. Thank you for your comments as they provide us the opportunity to improve our operation.

Kind Regards,
Chris Perry,
General Manager

“AVOID: Queues and No place to sit”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

This place is a total disaster. First you queue to get in, then you queue to buy a ticket, then you queue to get a towel, then you look for a sunbed and they are all taken. You would think for the price they charge you. AED 1000 for family of 4 they could invest in enough sunbeds. Anyway then you queue for every single ride.

Dear Penew,

We are very sorry that you didn’t walk away from your Wild Wadi experience raving (positively) about the time that you had.

You happened to visit us during our busiest week of the year. It is not only busy at Wild Wadi, but all over Dubai. The over demand for our park during this time of year is the main reason for the multiple queues and limited seating.

In order to help, Wild Wadi has restrictions on entrance and during Eid we closed our gates everyday by 2pm and we operated on a 1 in-1 out basis to make sure we did not overcrowd Wild Wadi.

If you are planning to come during a high demand period, we recommend coming as early as possible to ride popular attractions without queues and find premium seating areas without any inconveniences.

In addition, we are also introducing online ticketing by the end of 2012 to be able to speed up the Admissions process in the future.

Thank you for your comments as they provide us the opportunity to improve our operation.

Kind Regards,
Chris Perry,
General Manager
