“Tradition and the past!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

It show cases how Dubai was developed. Initially it was a total desert and their main business was trading as well as pearl merchandise. They go for fishing and that was their source of income and living. Their customs, traditions and how they gradually evolved everything you can feel there. Above all Oils made them the ultimate billionaires all of a sudden and from there Dubai was developing day by day - and finally what we see is one of the most Porsche city in the World! It will not be an entertainment to enjoy - But it will give you lot of information and history! Its very much informative and useful..!!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

located in the hustle of Dubai, near the market, It was indeed a wonderful visit, from the beginning of bedouin life, housing, way of life, and the history behind it culture, find the museum quite amusing and detailed. itis a good choice of having a better knowldge of dubai's early days. and add the fact that it was an actual fort, really give a certain feeling. it was a beautiful fort.

“A nice stop in Bur Dubai”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

The Dubai Museum is an old fort located in the 'old' Dubai city that caters mostly to tourists and tour buses.

It consists of two levels -- the street level which houses old fishing boats, abodes and weapons and an underground level where one can see various exhibits showcasing the development of Dubai from a fishing and pearl village into an International city. All of it is organized well and gives the visitor a good sense of Dubai's origins.

If you will be spending an entire day or more in Bur Dubai, I would say it is worth visiting and a nice escape from the sun for a bit.

“Enjoy the culture”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

When you tire of the shopping and your feet need a rest, take a stroll around this museum in the Meena Bazaar area. From the outside it looks very understated and presents itself as a replica of the Old Fort but inside and below ground it is very interesting and they are trying to presented exhibits well and sympathetically. For litttle over 50p per person we whiled away a couple of hours in the museum and left feeling we at least understood how the UAE had developed and their plans for the future.
