A nice apartment hotel with fair prices, rooms with fridge, stow and washing machine. Only - was the restaurant but I ate breakfast in the room and lunch/dinner at other restaurants in Dubai.

I recommend this hotel, this chain of hotels actually. In GS 3, the staff were very helpful and acommodating. We arrived there at 6 am and they checked us in after a few minutes of wait. Tthe room (425) is very big and clean, with clean sheets and towels, changed once a day... the kitchen is equipped and there is even a washer/dryer and iron and ironing board in the room.

Internet is free in the lobby and the dining hall, you can even print up to 2 pages without charge! There is a cash machine right outside the entrance and the local calls, when made in the lobby is for free!

The hotel location is excellent because you can easily walk to nearby stores, to the Museum, and the old souks. The Abra station is very close too, so it is easy to get to Dheira. If ur not for walking, just get a cab..they are cheap and the drivers are very honest and helpful. The Dubai Mall (dont miss this!), Burjuman and WAFI malls are very near.

Congratulations GS...your hotel is a home away from home. Will surely be back!

I stayed in a studio apartment of Golden Sands 3, Dubai. The room is in adequate size, comes along with self-catered kitchen. The bathroom is pretty good with all amenities provided. Everything is pretty good in this hotel. The only drawback is only the staff who barely smile and are a bit cold, especially after a long flight I would want something warmer, not just the super warm weather I got in Dubai.

They have got many Golden Sands in the same area so make sure you know which Golden Sands you are booked in. This is important particularly in Dubai, you don't wanna lug your backpack/luggage in such a hot weather because of knowing you have come to a wrong Golden Sands. This would wreck your happy mood. :)

The hotel has a tour desk which has everything you want to do in Dubai. So not to worry of what you should do in Dubai, they have all information provided. Make sure you book in the desert safari. It is worth trying where you can hop on a 4WD with all the sand dunes thingy.

Overall, it is a good value for money.

We stayed in Golden Sands 3 over Christmas (be careful in which one you are staying as there are over 12 different blocks all of different ages) and weren't that impressed. Whilst the apartments probably do meet their 3 star rating based on the facilities available and size, certainly Golden Sands 3 is in need of refurbishment if our apartment was anything to go by. Whilst it does have a few bonuses such as your own kitchen complete with washer dryer it equally had some more worrying issues like a very basic bathroom really showing signs of wear and tear and not what I would expect from a modern 3 star. Another more worrying issue is that whilst every one of the apartments, and there are 7 floors of them in each block, there is no sign of any smoke detection in case of an emergency anywhere in the room or corridors. With the combination of cooking facilities and no detection this is surely a recipe for disaster at some point when a tourist isn't careful in the kitchen. Other issues are that the general use PC's for accessing the internet are in permenent use, I only saw two occasions when one of the three PCs was available in 5 days. Equally the advertised bus to the beach was permanently fully booked. The restaurant is very basic and not that impressive and combined with the 'dry' no alcohol policy in the hotel isn't that well used. The pool is small but warm but unfortunately is positioned between the blocks and so the sun is shaded from about 14:30 in December so not much good for sunbathing. On a high note if you want a decent restaurant try the 4 points Sheraton around the corner which equally has a bar (although £5 per pint). Staff were friendly in Golden Sands and helpful and always willing to help by giving directions to different areas of Dubai. Equally we were able to get our room on arrival so can't complain here. Depends what you are after overall as these apartments are cheap and would probably suit a family group, just think through what you are after from your accomodation

This is our second christmas stay in Dubai, also the second stay in Golden sands 3.
Can not fault this holiday in any way at all, the staff are friendly and very helpful nothing is to much trouble and in my oppinion their aim is to make your stay as pleasurable as they can.
The appartments are well furnished and equipped clean & cool!!! and the complex is well located for our requirements, quiet, close to all the local ameneties and the infastructure is as good as anybody needs so your only a cheep taxi ride or train ride from anywhere.
It would not be fair not to make a negative comment, but its hard to think of anything to say that would put this place down, so may be one of the bathrooms could be bigger, and a floor mat supplied in each. Thats it 10 out of 10 Golden sands.

We stayed at the Golden Sands for 1 night while travelling through Dubai and it served our needs perfectly.

The hotel is in a good location and the room was very clean and spacious. The hotel was also much cheaper than most of the others I found - less than £50 per night.

As we were there for only a short time, we did not have much need to interact with the staff - so can't really comment on that aspect.

If you were going to Dubai for a week, you might want somewhere a bit more up-market but for a night or two I thought it was perfect.
