“Quite literally the best place I have ever stayed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2011

My wife and I spent 3 nights here on our honeymoon before heading to Sri Lanka, but I wish it had been for much longer.

Being treated like kings is something I could get used to.

The staff are very friendly, the lobby absolutely gorgeous and our room(s) ( we got upgraded when they realised we were on our honeymoon) were excellent.

The place really feels arabic, with a nice theme throughout. It has a choice of restaurants, and it's own beach area which is lovely.

The pool is fantastic and they keep you supplied with water/beer/wine at your sun bed.

Breakfast was lovely - looking out onto a beautiful view and we had dinner out side one evening right by the beach and it was perfect. The rooftop bar is one of my favourite places in the world - nicely lit, good music and excellent 'vibe'.

Needless to say everything is very expensive (hotel and Dubai in general) - but if you've got the cash to stay here, I doubt that's much of an issue to you.

We did afternoon tea at Burj Al Arab which is recommended, a desert safari and we went to Atlantis waterpark which is a great day out.

In summary, no negatives - just an awesome place to be.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Palace. We have taken time to view the more expensive Arabian Court, and Residence accommodation and we feel there isn't anything extra to gain from paying significantly more when the Palace is perfect. The staff are outstanding, we received a free room upgrade the second time around, and the 9 restaurants are all individual and amazing. If you book half board you get a supplement to eat at ANY of the restaurants regardless of where you are staying in the complex. The pools are large and well kept, and daily activities are superb, and the hotel night club and sheesha bar are first class. This is easily one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, which include visit to the Maldives, Malaysia, Austalia, Fiji, U.S.A. Dont miss this haven in Dubai.

Stunning hotel built with no expense spared. Outstanding service from the second we arrived and throughout our entire stay. Nothing too much trouble. Outstanding value - our spend was less than at Le meridien 4 days before yet we did more and enjoyed more. Food amazing. Peacocks roam grounds - everything is immaculate even down to the sand on the beach. Free Internet and water and generally very high standards throughout. Experienced the amazing hamam onsite. Wish I had stayed 8 nights instead of 4. Reluctant to leave, will definitely return and will follow this brand. A genuine flawless "hearts and arrows" diamond of a hotel. As a 4 seasons regular, I'm gobsmacked at how good this place is....

If you can afford to stay at this property you should. It is a beautifully Moroccan themed luxury resort hotel and unlike many things in Dubai, it is done just right, not over the top.

If you cannot afford to stay, an absolute must is to go to their hammam. For those of you that associate hammam with getting beaten to a pulp or uncomfortable nudity, dont worry.

This is the most beautiful, elegant, relaxing moment of pampering you will ever experience. The hammam itself is gorgeous: all marble, dark with the right amount of streaky blue light peaking through the tiny skylight, drippy sounds of water. You can bring your bikini if you like, or they can give you disposable spa thong. Someone with dress you in your beautiful cotton robe, wrap your hair up, sort you out with a locker, spa shoes and the individual/disposable scrub mitt.

You can use the plunge pool / sauna before and after your treatment if you wish.

You will have your own professional, quiet, polite, lovely therapist and she will lead you through the hammam and the different steps. I always get the royal hammam treatment. it is something like 90 minutes of being softly splashed with water in your own little cove (or with a friend if you book together) rubbed down with various muds, oils, then sat in a steam room to absorb all the good elements, splashed, lay down on the hot marble slab, wrapped in mud, steam soak, splashed, lay back down, scrubbed all over with the mitt (you will never be softer in you life), massaged and given a facial.

Then you are led to a relaxation room also beautifully decorated in traditional North African theme, given tea, dates and apricots until you wish to get ready and leave or use the plunge pool and sauna.

Though the hammam is not cheap when you look at the price for this (around AED 500 = less than 150 USD!!!!) and the time and services and quality you experience - I think this is an excellent value. In another city this would be many times the price.

The roof top bar is also lovely (as long as its not summer!), the Moroccan restaurant, Au Zone, the Beach Bar & Grill and the breakfast are all places I recommend at go to living in Dubai for 4 years. Everything is amazing. So if you can afford it, do not hesitate, book now!

Just came back from our 3rd visit to the one and only and it gets better every time, can't believe how many guests we've met before its like meeting old friends. If you have not been before please go and you will see why so many people return. The hotel and staff are pure class. A big thank you to all at the gold club, Krishna, Jagga, Pebbin, Raja, Vass, also Stanly and the guys at the pool bar, thanks for giving us the best holiday, hope to see you all again next year!

The afternoon tea in the Residence Spa was lush pure gultony disguised as refinement. Major problems with the wireless internet ... the staff failed to make a mends. Quality stay nonetheless.

We have just returned from 8 nights at the One and Only Royal Mirage (The Palace) and it was just excellent.

ALL the staff are so accommodating, charming and cannot do enough for you. Rooms are a good size and very comfortable, with nice bathrooms, spotlessly clean. (I understand that it has all recently been refurbished) I slept so well for the whole stay and there was minimal noise.

We were staying on a B&B basis - great buffet breakfasts at a choice of restaurants (we preferred Olives which felt more informal). We often had a light lunch at the 'esplanade' pool bar - again, staff were great, efficient.

The pool area itself is fabulous and the beach is lovely for a change. Pool and beach staff were great - keeping us topped up with complimentary water (a brilliant plus in the heat when other hotels charge £5+ a bottle), cleaning our sunglasses and speedily serving cocktails. In terms of hotel restaurants, we only dined at The Beach Bar and Grill which had a nice setting, friendly staff - food was good. We had drinks at the The Jetty - great for sundowners - and also at the Rooftop at the Arabian Court - fab, friendly staff.

I have stayed in many hotels in Dubai and I will certainly be back to the One and Only - it was far superior to some of the other 5* places I have been to.....we can't wait to book the next trip....my only gripe was that I had to leave!
