“A very old hotel with impeccable service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

It's one of the very old Hotel but with an excellent service the staff are efficient and courteous
The entrance of the hotel is grande and the check in is swift and you really feel valued as a guest.
In the beginning,we got the old wing and the room looks like a three star and the bed was not
Comfortable,we were shocked,we called and complained within two minutes the staff was up and
Escorted us to three different rooms on the same wing and when I am not satisfied they offered us
Their deluxe room on the new wing with a little extra pay and we were thrilled to see the new room
The bed is comfortable, the decor was good and the linens were good quality.the breakfast is out
Of this world, and their steak restaurant is voted the best in Dubai. The location is normally jammed
During peak seasons and one of the very old part of city ,which is not my cup of tea.But it has its own charm if you like more traditional things. The valet parking is very good and efficient, and the concierge is very knowledgable and helpful with all the tips. The spa is good and the swimming
Pool area is very relaxing and huge area.overall is a very good Hotel with impeccable service
But the old wing needs big refurbishment other than that you can't fault the hotel
I fully recommend the hotel but for me personally I prefer the JW Marriott Marquis.

Room Tip: Ask for the new wing deluxe and top floor away from the lift and facing the main road to have some s...

One of the oldest hotels in Dubai , but you can't feel it , we'll maintained and well looked after , high class , nice and helpful staff , thumps up to the successful management of the hotel , rooms size is ok , the best thing you going to love about it is the location . It's in the heart of Dubai , accessible , a lot of markets and shopping centers around , relatively near to airport , restaurants , supermarkets , Price is ok passed on the season.

One of the best hidden gems near airport and close to Dubai Creek, Gold Souks, great restaurants. The hotel staff, service and decor is one of the best Marriott Hotels I've ever stayed at, or any other for that matter. Even the hotel has good food to choose from such as the JW Steakhouse, German Hofbrau house with great beer AND Pork, to Italian and Asian. Friday Buffets a must if you don't want to leave the hotel. Pool and gym very clean. About to start major room renovations to take the quality to the next level. Check on this before you book, but I'm sure it won't take long to complete.

Room Tip: Overlook the indoor atrium. Nice piano bar for relaxing there.

I stood at JW Marriott Hotel Dubai on business for three weeks. The property features large spacious rooms, ten food and beverage outlets, banquet halls, dedicated concierge services, boutiques, vacation club desk, state of the art health club and others. I’ve enjoyed the huge variety of stations for breakfast at the Market Place, a typical buffet outlet located at the first floor. Also one of my favorite fine dining outlets was the JW’s steakhouse that serves steaks that cut like butter. Cucina serves Italian platters with very reasonable prices specifically table d’hotte lunches. Hofbrauhaus is the place for original HB which I will visit often. Champions is a casual sports bar that offers beverages at very low prices during happy hours. Piano bar is a relaxed joint for lazy afternoons. Mays El Reem is a an outlet that showcases belly dancing, shisha and fine Lebanese delicacies. Not to mention several Cafes at both ends of the hotel. Infamous Griffin’s health club was once known to be the largest health center in the Middle East. Certainly my timings at the gym were in the early mornings. Finally JW Marriott Dubai introduced Club Marriott programme that provides exceptional savings for food, beverage and accommodation. More details can be found here http://www.myclubmarriott.com/

About 10 mins to the airport- so a plus for early flights or late arrivals. Quite an old hotel by dubai standards and a dated design and odd dated layout with a central atrium . Conservative design, drab colours, heavy old fashioned furniture, overall more geared to a middle eastern clientele although a lot of american business people as well. Nothing really to see/do in the area.

Good exec lounge and food/drinks though, and good service in there overall.

Reasonable pool and patio area on the roof- good service and some breeze as high up...

Rooms, whilst large, are dark, no coffee making facils unlike other dubai 4 and 5 star hotels-old fashioned furniture and often a smell of cigarette smoke- same issue in the corridors and public areas. No views and if you face in to the central courtyard- no natural light and looking on to the bar and restaurant area below. The biggest issue is noise from the Lebanese restaurant below - whilst some may enjoy loud arabic music and singing until 3am- others who want to sleep will not...if on the side facing in to the hotel- look out...
Rather uninspiring overall and a nightmare if in one of the rooms affected by the noise/music!

Room Tip: looking out on to the street- non smoking, although it will prob still smell of smoke sadly

Convenient location for airport, staff very professional and friendly, room service menu reasonably priced and good food.

Gym and pool really useful and in great condition.

Only negative aspect was the room sometimes smelt a little of smoke - it was a non-smoking room but I guess the smell came in from smoking rooms connected via air-con.

We are tourists who stayed two nights after a cruise; the room was very nice and spacious. Large bathroom, separate shower and tub. Very helpful staff. We got around town mostly using the Metro which was only a couple of blocks away. Italian Restaurant on premises, Cucina was good. They have several restaurants to choose from.
