Segreto was always our favourite dining spot for an atmospheric and delicious dining experience.
We were excited to return this year and were really surprised by how average it had become.
Immediately we noticed the lights at full beam, and my husband asked why they had gone for this over the lower more atmospheric lighting. His answer was that due to the higher volumes of children at this time of year, it is better so they can see what they are doing, now as most were sitting with iPads and so forth (including our child) I don't really think the children would have noticed the lights being lower in brightness.
It lacked any real ambience as a result and we actually heard another couple make the same suggestion to the manager.
We noticed the menu had changed and the number of pasta dishes had increased, perhaps this is to cover the half board vouchers, but certainly it was now a limiting menu unless you adore pasta. I had smoked mozzarella starter with 15year old aged balsamic - it came with no balsamic and I had to ask whereby they gave me a drizzle. I didn't want to ask for more in case they charged me for the rations.
Our bread basket was delivered with no oil and vinegar which we then had to ask for - they apologised as it should have come with the bread.
Pasta was nice enough but I think Carnevale is a better italian option in this resort.
