I just came back from this hotel last saturday with my husband and our baby of 2 years old. This place is amazing, really there are no words to describe how perfect it is. I really cannot find a single bad thing.
We stayed here for 9 days on a halfboard arrangement. From our agency in Belgium they told us they could have the breakfast and dinner only in the Mistral restaurant located in the hotel. On our check-in we went very fast and faultless they told us they could choose between lunch and dinner, and go in every restaurant we wanted too. the italian-the chinese-the indian-or the arabic (mistral).
We tried all of them during our stay, everyone is excellent, the chinese is just fabulous my husband which usually doesn't like chinese (because of the take away or the wok buffet food we tried here in belgium) was so surprised to taste such a tasty and good food so this one was his favorite. And the people working in the restaurant were so kind, actually everyone in the hotel was very very kind, but on comment like, this plate was very tasty they would reply: would you like another one. and everything without paying anything extra. I mean you don't get this in another country. in Turkey you get a buffet were everthing is cooked at least 2-3 before, and you get to eat in other restaurant only on additional payment and they call it all inclusive. here everything was cooked fresh for you.
the other restaurants were really good too, the same thing for the italian, indian, and mistral everything fresh cooked, the service was excellent. In mistral restaurant execpt the large buffet with salads/sushi/desserts/bread etc.. you could pick up as many fresh meat or seafood and give it to the chef to cook it for you.
The shuttle bus service to the oceana was always on time and very well arranged, the oceana beach was very beautiful the club, the pool the vieuw...
the concierge and the people working on the entrance were very helpful. everythime they were helping us to get a taxi or when coming back from. Being with a baby and buggy and lots of begs is not very easy but they were always helpful and always smiling.
I really cannot understand why anybody could complain about this hotel, I had read some reviews before coming and there were a few negative ones. Well in a certain moment when I was at the entrance of the hotel, when coming out of a taxi with my baby the people working there were helping me as usual. it was kind of busy in that moment as many taxis and cars were arriving at the same moment. From another taxi another couple arrived and a man was shouting to the people working there he said very brutaly: Isn't it your job to keep the door open for us?
the workers didn't say anything bad back but just kept smiling. I mean how nasty can you be as a tourist? they were a couple not having any bag at all to carry, no baby nothing... why do you have to behave in that way. I think this is the kind of people writing bad reviews.
I didn't mind at all that the hotel location, I mean everywhere located in Dubai you need to move by taxi of Metro if you want to visit another place as the city is quite big. As a tourist you want to see as many thing as possible right? so even if you hotel is located to the JBR or the Marina Walk to go to Dubai mall you need to take a taxi.
I think in a kind of way is better that the hotel and the Oceane beach are not that closed, this way you get a bit out of the hotel and you see the city, during the way we were asking what is this place so in the evening or the next day we were going to visit it.
On our last day during the check out everything was arranged perfectly well, since our transfer to the airport was coming at 14:20 we still had the time for lunch we was offered by the hotel without additional payment.
As a conclusion I would like to thank everybody working there thanks to you we don't only have a amazing memory of Dubai city but also of our stay and hospitality there.
