“Very clean!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2011

Citymax Al Barsha is a very clean above average budget hotel near the East Food Court of Mall of the Emirates. The bed was great. There was a desk, fridge, wardrobe and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was spotless though the shower water does splash out. There is also a gym and pool upstairs at the top! Annoyed that I had to pay a half day for arriving before check-in time and the hum of the air conditioning units outside. There is no free wifi, so best to go to a cafe on the left hand side of the building opposite.

The hotel is ideally located in newly developed area Al Barsha. Few hundreds of yards away from Mall of Emirates provides much flexibility to the tourists for meeting shopping, eating and daily needs. The hotel has a good bar with live music playing on friday/ saturday nights as experienced during my stay. The Sports Lounge was dull whereas lots of spors events around the world are usually held. However, they were not displayed. The reception is generally friendly but takes longer times to check in. Taxis are available on the door, which is a positive. Standard rooms (which we got at @ 300 DHS per night, incl taxes, without breakfast) are very small and cost higher than others of the same category in other places. Probably, it is due to the location and/ or on the weekend during DSF. Generally, a smart hotel to stay if u r not pushed for a luxury stay.

We stayed in this hotel for 8 days during December last week and it was very comfortable...the rooms are very clean and hygenic including the bathrooms..they clean it up regularly. The room size was quite small and there is not many TV channels (around 30 including the local channels) otherwise rest was all very good. The staff were courteous and friendly. The hotel has a bar which was quite active on weekends....the food variety was decent although expensive....

Overall its worth the money and you can stay their if you are planning to stay with your family....

This was our first trip to Dubai, spent the first half of our trip at this hotel before staying near to the creek.
This is a brand new hotel and is therefore spotlessly clean - we found the rates very good value especially as many of the hotels in Dubai are quite pricey. The rooms are exactly as shown on the hotel website photos - quite basic but very clean and we had a great view of both the Burj Al Arab and the Burj Khalifa.
Great location - 2 minute walk to the Mall of the Emirates, 10 minutes to the nearest metro.
Only slight negative would be the breakfast which was not very nice - better off going for the room only rate and just heading over to the mall for breakfast.
We mainly used this hotel as a base for sightseeing so can't comment on many of the facilities/restaurants but would recommend to others.

This is a nice hotel, rooms are not very big, but they are clean and bed is comfortable. Bathroom has a big shower but, according to me, it is very basic... There's a pool on the roof with several chairs, this was good to me, since it wasn't possible to stay on the beach, because of the wind. Taxis always waiting outside the hotel. The hotel offers very good rates and it is just in front of the Mall of the Emirates. Metro station is about 15 min and you need to cross the Mall, but this is not that difficult! I haven't used wifi nor had breakfast there, so I cannot judge. In general, I'd stay there again.

The CityMax Al Barscha is a perfect hotel for a citytrip in Dubai. Next to Mall Of the Emirates where you can easily acces the metro (you don't have to get out of the Mall, just acces the metro on the second floor of the mall). You will be in Downtown Dubai (Burj Khalifa) by metro in 20 minutes for AED 4,50.
To the Burj Al Arab by taxi will cost you 10 minutes and AED 15,-. Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah by taxi in 15 to 20 minutes for AED 20,-.

We didn't spend much time in the hotel so I can't review the services of the hotel. We didn't have any problems with the staff or the hotel. We also used the swimmingpool on the rooftop where you also have a beautifull view over Dubai.
