Owner description: In the historic district, the Abra Dock in Bur Dubai, is an affordable 10-minute traditonal wooden boat ride -- really a taxi. Take the abra from the Bastakiya side, look around the textile souk and the art galleries, and end in the gold souk. Used by 15-20 million passengers each year, the Abra Dock in Bur Dubai is a memorable cruise in the water.

“A fun way to get across the creek”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

For 1Dhs this is a must do way of getting across from Deira to Bur Dubai. Quicker than driving and an experience not to be missed. For apporximately 100Dhs per hour you can hire an abra and the boatman will take you up and down the creek.

“Good value transport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

Definitely a most for the old Dubai experience.
Visit the Gold Souks and Spice Souks.
Cheap way to travel, in an expensive city.
Bur Dubai is definitely worth a visit.

“Old Dubai in all its glory”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

A must do experience for visitors to go across the creek in one of these abras. Just be careful with young kids and mum and dad as there's no guardrails and very little lifesaving equipment onboard. Can be quite scary at night and not recommended if you're a non swimmer.

“Confusing!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

Omg this place is the most confusing place ever and there is no one to give you help. Once you figure out how it works however its an amazing way to cross the creek.

“Nice to watch the creek at sunset”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013 via mobile

Went here at around 5pm to stroll around the souks and soak up the atmosphere. Whilst it is not as lively or bustling as a market in Morocco or Tunisia it has a pleasant atmosphere and you can find souvenirs and nice Pashminas. The boat ride over the creek is 1 add and offers nice views of old Dubai. At that time of the day it's nice to sit at the creek with some mint tea and watch the little boats go back and forth. Nice alternative to the ultra modern high life downtown Dubai.
