Stayed here for three nights as a stopover on our way to Australia and so glad that we did. As a family of 2 adults and 2 older children we booked two rooms that was connected through the hallway, which was great as it gave us all a bit of space. We were on the ground floor with the balcony almost opposite the pool area. The rooms are of excellent quality and have everything that you could need. Free bottles of water and fruit. We found the staff to be extremely polite and helpful. They arranged our trips for us (Atlantis-swimming with dolphins which was amazing we also visited Burj Khalfia and did a 1/2 day city tour which I would recommend) It was our daughters 12 birthday while we were there and they surprised her with a cake and flowers. Breakfast was good and most of it cooked to order, great waffles! We had dinner at Olives once which still is buffet style with great pizzas. I would love to stay longer next time.

Room Tip: Ground floor, easy access to pool area.

Hotel selected as having good beach and extensive grounds with ability to use adjacent restaurants.

On arrival disappointed by room allocation and on 3rd attempt we accepted the room given (deluxe). There were three downsides to what was otherwise an excellent hotel. First some of the rooms were so drab which is surprising given the quality of finish elsewhere. We were not the only ones to complain of this. Second, being close to the entrance to the Palm there was a rumble of road noise which is worse at weekends. Last the mooring of boats just offshore playing loud rap music all day can take away from the beach experience.

Food quality excellent but the hotel really should consider upping the lighting levels at tables which come close to pitch black when outside!

I will have a few words about the location and climate as well, however, I need to write about the service on the first hand.

1) We arrived at about 3:00 a.m. after a long trip. One hopes to get to bed a.s.a.p. in such a case. However, check-in formalities took as long as at any other time of the day.

2) We had to go through the whole welcome ceremony introducing the hotel, the room etc. While doing this, the guy accompanying us opened the mini bar and saw that it was totally empty (picture attached). He offered to get it filled (at 3 o'clock in the morning) immediately. I could hardly stop him doing so and told him, he should do it next morning. We stayed 8 nights and it was still empty when we left. I attach another picture of a minibar filled properly at another room we occupied.

3) One day, we lost a shoe and while searching for it, I did the mistake of looking under the bed. The view was simply disgusting (picture attached). The dirt does not originate from us and was still there when we left. I don't know, how many customers ago it got there, but it is a firm evidence that they hardly clean parts of the room that are not visible. In fact, we dropped an empty bottle at the floor behind the couch and it remained there for 4 days until we removed it ourselves.

4) There were clumps of hair of previous customers at the shower and the WC. I know this for sure, as neitherone of us has dark hairs. Disgusting.

5) There were spots and regions of dirt on the carpets on the public areas of the hotel as well. It is obvious that these areas are rarely vacuumed or cleaned.

6) Pool-side service is terrible. Our orders were forgotten, came late or were incomplete for three days in a row. So, it is not a one-time event. On the third time, while having guests at the pool area, we ordered cappucinos and some other drinks. Our order came in about 40 minutes. Foam of the cappucino was already going in itself and it was only warm. There was no sugar. It took about 15 minutes for them to bring the sugar, so I finally flipped out and sent the cappucino back, demanding a new one and this time with the sugar from the beginning.

As regards the location and the environment: The hotel is at the base of the Palm. So, your view towards the sea is nothing but the big appartment buildings, incomplete construction work etc. There is a parking house + some other technical facilites to your right (picture attached), so there are some machines working 24 hours a day. There is a continous background noise even late at night or early in the morning.

Your view from the sea towards the hotel is not any different. Some green at the pool side plus lots of tall buildings built next to each other. Concrete everywhere.

In the afternoon, around 3 or 4 o'clock, a bunch of modified jet-skis pop up and pass from right to left and back. They do this over and over and they make a noise similar to formula cars. You can even smell their exhaust gases after a while, especially when there is a wind from the sea.

Finally, the sea is warmer than the air, so swimming in the sea is no refreshment at all. You could go in the pool that is said to be cooled, but why would I travel all the way to Dubai to swim in a pool together with a lot of children of which I don't know how many times they peed into it.

All in all, it was one of the worst (if not the worst) holidays in my life and it was definitely not worth the money: ca. 900 USD per night per room.

What a loss of time and money...

We were really looking forward to this luxury break.....and also using the hotel as a base to entertain our son, his wife and new baby who live in Dubai. We were very impressed with the appearance of the hotel and its beautifully manicured gardens and beach. The architecture of the three elements of the complex is fabulous and one immediately felt relaxed and ready to lap up the luxury.
However, we found the level of care varied greatly on an hour to hour basis....with no consistency in service. We had a very poor experience in Eau Zone on our first evening, when we were left hanging about for 20 minutes before we were finally told there was no table for us as we were inappropriately dressed. Had this been mentioned at the outset, we would, of course, have changed. The waiter who dealt with us was surly to the point of rudeness and my husband immediately spoke to the duty manager. The situation was rectified but our evening was spoilt.
Numerous times on the beach and round the pools we had to ask several times for drinks and were then kept waiting at least 15 minutes on every occasion.
On the day we decided to check out, we had lunched at the Beach Club...a beautiful setting, a table right next to the beach, with a gentle breeze blowing. Our son and family met us there and we had a very pleasant meal, although again, the service was slow and not particularly friendly. At 4pm we decided to wander back to the pool area for a final hour in the sun before changing for dinner. At this point, our pool attendant asked for room details as he handed out towels and then mentioned that unless we paid the full days rate for our guests to remain with us, they would have to leave....this was ridiculous as there was less than 2 hours daylight left. Surely staff should be taught to be discretionary. I was very upset, as, once again, our supposedly beautiful holiday was being ruined.
At this point we decided to check out and stay at the Westin for our final 2 nights. This is a hotel we have used before and will certainly be using again.

My third visit to this hotel and everything is just as wonderful, it ticks all the boxes in my opinion, this is the Only place to go when in Dubai, the staff are so helpful and friendly, and it's good to see hands on management, they have a great team of staff to ensure your stay is wonderful. Food amazing with lots of choice, of restaurants within the hotel and the One and Only group in Dubai.

Room Tip: All rooms face the garden, pool and beach.

We stayed for 5 nights end of September travelling with a 3 year old and a 7 month old baby. Everything was as described and no surprises! Lovely beach and pool area. Staff and customer service as expected excellent and even when they got it wrong, they did everything to make it right! Valet parking took a bit long at times but did not mind the wait whilst admiring the inside of the Arabian court. If you have very young kids 4 and under, Arabian Court is great. Otherwise with older children you may wish to consider the Palace as you have access to Kids club. Great location near the palm, marina and malls.

Room Tip: Ground floor with kids as you get access to the gardens and play areas without having to negotiate s...

Expected alot from this hotel in terms of reputations and service but disappointed greatly in service. The overall rating of 8.3 is an indication of service because the exterior is very impressive and deserves a 9.5 which leaves service at below a 7. Stayed for 3 nights in October and did not enjoy the service based on the following 1) ordered car service to pick up a friend and they did not place her name on the sign 2) had to call many times to organize a transfer 3) reserved a restaraunt at the Palm and concierge did not advise that shorts were not allowed 4) booked a tennis lesson and 8 am with instructor Joel show did not show up 5) fitness room is worn 6) waverunners and yachts were very close to the beach one day with music balsting and it was impossible to swim and the hotel did nothing about it.

Definitely would not stay again, and would recommend the Westin next door for a better experience.

Room Tip: Choose one close to the lobby as this hotel a quite large in territory
