We stayed here as a stop over on our way back to the UK from Thailand and the hotel is very nice, it looks like a business mans hotel more than a family hotel but i think most in Dubai will have this feeling. The main entrance and reception are very grand looking and the staff are all very friendly especially the door staff.
On checking in we were told that there had been no payment made for our rooms despite laterooms.com taking our payment prior to travelling and telling us it was processed successfully, the reception man wanted 2000 Dirhams (Dhs) and after a long trip from Thailand this did cause us a bit of a head ache and a few raised voices, i refused to pay until i could speak to lateooms. On speaking to them they rang the hotel only to be told that no payment had been made they said it was the hotels fault for not taking payment when the booking was made, i went down and spoke to the manager (Tony) who was very helpful, he gave us free access on to the internet to check on line banking to make sure nothing had come out which it hadn't, on going to pay the rooms the day before we left we were told the payment had now been taken by the hotel, so all this drama could have been avoided if the person on reception at check in had not said anything as I understand from Tony that this is normal practice on a booking of this kind with no up front payment needed.
Anyway back to the hotel, the room we were in was huge and very clean, the hotel is located about 20 mins or so from the airport and cost us 100Dhs to get from the airport and 75Dhs to get back when we left, taxis in Dubai seem to delight in taking foreigners on round the world trips to wherever they are going we found just to up the cost, something to be aware of and the private taxis that also pick up from taxi ranks will cost you approx 50% more than the standard marked taxis.
Overall I would recommend this hotel and would come back if I could ever afford to come back as everything is massively expensive 3 to 4 times the cost of the UK for food/drink etc
Take a lot of money
