“Perfect hotel for children”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2010

We were at Atlantis the Palm during easter holidays of 2010. If you are traveling with young children this is the hotel you must go at. I have a son at the age of 6 and a daughter at the age of 5. We stayed at a de luxe room. The view was very nice and our children hasd something to do the whole day. The sea in Dubai is not very nice , especially when you are from Greece as we are, but the hotel had very nice swimming pools, an amazing water park, nannies that would take care of your children when you go out at night, many restaurants and very good service. So i definitely recommend this hotel to who ever travels with young children.

we have just had 2 weeks in the far east and to end the holiday decided on a 3 night break at the atlantis to round things off.
firstly may we thank all you guys who commented on this resort, the comments you posted were very helpful...but most of all to all the guys who recommended asking for an upgrade on arrival.when we checked in i followed your advice and asked for an upgrade, the person behind the desk asked us what we wanted and jokingly i suggested the bridge suite,we had a laugh about it and he said he would give us something special.....special was an underestimation,we opened our room door and found ourselves in a regal suite(room 16433),i dont mind saying that i started to well up inside.it made our holiday even more special.
the room aside, everything was outstanding, the food, the staff, the entertainment and the water attractions.we could go on forever but for those people who havent been here, they really need to visit to appreciate it.we would say just one thing, and its not a negative in anyway, the waterpark opens at 10am daily to hotel guests and the public,it would be nice if it opened for the hotel guests at 9am so they could have the first hour to themselves as it does get quite busy, and after all the hotel guests have paid alot of money for their stay.

We stayed 4 nights at the Atlantis Palm in June and overall it was a good hotel but beware the prices in the hotel are very expensive. A bottle of beer costs around £8 and a bottle of wine £30 bottled water around £5 although the poolside bar does happy hour half price from 6pm to 8pm.

We stayed half board thankfully as the meal prices were astronomical, £30 each for breakfast and £40 each for dinner. I dont know anyone who could eat £30 of breakfast which was standard fare of bacon sausage beans etc.

The staff were friendly, apart from the bar near reception who I found were quite rude. Te staff looked so bored and pounced on us as soon as we walked in. We had 2 cokes for £8 and paid with cash, the waitress never brought our change until we asked (she just assumed we had left a big tip).

The Lost Chambers are included but open to outside visitors and definitely not worth the £20 admision fee. Basically some big fish tanks which could have been walked round in 5 minutes.

The pools were small and quite crowded round the edge so we went to the hotels beach.

Overall a good hotel but nothing like the quality you would expect from a 5 star hotel. The prices are prohibitive too.

The hotel is breathtakingly beautiful from outside in the night! However, in the day i couldn't help thinking it resembled a great big pink palace.. bit like something you'd see in a Disney film!!!
Food was brill, rooms were good (although the luxury factor you'd get at Jumeira beach was missing), pools was excellent.. kids could not get enough, weather was perfect for swimming (39 degrees av), aquaventure was fantastic!
Staff couldn't do enough for you.. kids lost their ds console and management took this very seriously and it was found within days!

Overall, i'd say it's excellnt for families, although it was very very busy due to half term.. it was slightly annoying to see so many brits ,you'd think you haven't left England!

Only thing irritating was having to wait for breakfast in a queue, not something you'd expect from a 5 star hotel really.. but staff were quick and efficient and once you acutally saw the vast arrays of food, you'd forget the wait and tuck in !!!

We have just returned today from the Atlantis Dubai & had the best holiday & will be hopefully returning very soon. Having already stayed at the Atlantis Bahamas many years ago we knew it can be very costly & what to expect from this 5 star hotel but this was actually better! There doesn't seem to be as much marine life as there was in the Bahamas but other things more than make up for that. From the moment we arrived we felt very special, the service was out of this world - I do not understand anybody moaning on this site about the service, the people working at this hotel cannot do enough for you. The rooms were lovely, everything you could want & more. We had a beautiful view of The Palm and over the Royal Pool & Beach & our room was on the second floor. Had read on here that people had said it was quite noisy staying on the lower level & looking out over the Palm but to be honest if the noise bothered you you really should not go out of your home on holiday because all this was was people enjoying themselves or light music! In the evening the nightclub music could be heard but if you shut your patio door (which unless you want to sleep in a sauna you would have anyway!) you can hardly hear it & it is not going to keep you awake at night! We had our two year old son with us & he did not murmour. Our room had two queen sized beds, flat screen tv, beautiful bathroom, lots of storage space, complimentary water, fruit etc.

Lots of people are moaning on here about the price, I can understand as we know this having stayed at the Atlantis Bahamas & were on a Room Only so we decided to stay on a Half Board basis at the Palm & I have to say this is fantastic value for money. The breakfasts are out of this world, the dinner is food like I have never tasted in my life! There was never a chip in sight! Unless you purchased lunch from the outdoor areas like The Shore or Shark Bites etc. where this is fast food but still lovely. I cannot fault any food at this hotel, its the best I have eaten. The drinks are quite pricey but living near London we are used to paying over the top! Around the pool or the water park we purchased one drink of either pepsi or lemonade & asked for two cups with ice & this was more than enough for drink for the two of us, Capri Sun is sold at the water park too & is cheaper for the little-uns which is good.

The water park is a must & is great if you have kids with you will keep them entertained all day long. No need to take any towels with you as you just supply your room number & can have as many towels as you please, this goes for both pools & beach. Also life jackets for the little ones are supplied & there are tubes a plenty for the rides.

There is a shuttle service supplied which can take you to & from the Malls which is a great service going at different times. Shopping in dubai is a must just to see the size of the Mall although prices are very much the same as at home, still a good day or night out. We managed to go up the Burj Khalifa which is also a must but a little tip - pre-book your tickets before you travel on the net as it will cost you 4 x the amount if you pay on the day & places are limited.

I was a little worried about what to wear whilst I was visiting Dubai so was a little apprehensive but in the resort anything goes really. Obviously when walking inside the hotel t-shirts & shorts must be worn but outside at the hotel you are fine to walk around in your bikinis or shorts. When going outside of the resort like visiting the Mall they say you should cover knees & shoulders & not wear too revealing tops but to be honest only the locals kept to this rule. You may get a few looks though! Restaurants in the hotel are very relaxed with 'Casual' as the main dresscode, unless you a visiting the most expensive ones.

Overall one of the best places we have visited & cannot fault it - we cannot wait to return to Atlantis the Palm, Dubai!!

A very lovely property with loads of activity.. however it is a tourist spot with so many people that even being a resident of the hotel you have to practilly ientify yourself togoeverywhere in he hotel... not for people looking for calm relaxation. Veryo qualtypol though the Water park is simpley amazing. The lst chambers is completely avoidable and has nothing to offer the eating places need queing up especially for breakfast which is bad considering the money you pay... the restaurants are quite expnsive and the shopping is very very premium.... (read expensive). All is all a great place to visit.. but not stay...

We stayed there just for a day and actually you need more than that to take in all that Atlantis has to offer. The decor and architecture is breathtaking. The pools and water park had the kids begging for more. The massive aquarium tour was beautiful and educational. The dolphin show was however too expensive. Each room had two queen sized beds so easily accomodating 2 adults and 2kids.
