“All that Glitters....”

Isnt necessarily gold ?

Its time for a reality check with this hotel.

We stayed for a week on a half board basis in a beautiful deluxe room facing the palm. The room, food and design of the hotel are all justifyabily 1st class, and worthy of a premier 5 start hotel.

However, it is marketed as having numerous bars and restaurants, yet there is only one public bar available (off the main central lobby area) all the others are part of the various restaurants.Furthermore a hotel proporting to be be a class leading 5 star world class facility would surely have some form of family entertainment available for its guests ? many people do not wish to either have to stay in expensive restaurants or even drink.
Families have no option but to wander the corridors on the ground level and gaze at the famous fish tank (fabulous though it is, its charms wear off after the 3 night of nothing else to do)

One is left with no option but to catch a taxi into town, for some form of evening entertainment.
A little effort in utelising the numerous conference rooms to provide some form of family entertainment would surely elevate the status of the hotel.

This hotel could be great.... if it didnt rest on its laurels and reputation so much.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room facing the palm ( city)

Had a quick break away from Dubai ...entrance lobby still suffers from poor cooling it felt quite damp and it took 30 minutes to check in due to it being quite busy. I had asked if they had an ocean view room and took a while to locate one. The room although nice and spacious very clean dud not have much of a view it was on the 2nd floor overlooking the entrance. Word if advice ask for a city view level 5 or higher to get the best view it will have ocean and view of Dubai marina. Ordered room service and the food was perfect and arrived in less than 30 minutes. The toilet is quite small I'm not a large person but don't know what the designers were thinking when they sized the commode. I was rudely woken up by drilling on the floor below at 8:30 in the morning which was unacceptable I had to call to customer care and they had it stopped but I was woken up and was not in a good mood. Also the tv was not working and it took 2 calls to get it fixed apparently the receiver needed to be reset the rooms should be checked prior. On a good note had dinner at ossiano fantastic beautiful view of the aquarium great live music and exceptional service food is fantastic. Highly recommend it as a romantic evening. Spent the day at he aquapark and swam with the dolphins that was magic. Overall a decent experience bit pricy but nice escape.

I stayed in The Atlantis for 4 nights. My advice would be to pay the extra money and upgrade to the Imperial Club as this will save you money in the long run. This is an exclusive / expensive hotel with 4 soft drinks costing around £25. The imperial upgrade offers you free water park entry, breakfast, afternoon tea and alcoholic drinks on the evening. Our particular package also included a free car service, which I chose to use for the airport however taxis in Dubai are really cheap.

During our stay we booked to dine at Saffron and THE SAFFRON FRIDAY BRUNCH for around £80 (12.30pm to 4.00pm). This is a must do. Everything and anything is available including giant watermelons filled with vodka, Champaign on tap, every cuisine and desserts from around the world. This is a must do!!!!!!!!

This hotel is child friendly and has teamed up with Nikelodeon to entertain children and even hosts its own teen club in separate hotel quarters fit with climbing walls.

The Atlantis is on fantastic grounds and the staff are brilliant. This hotel also has the WOW factor and wreaks wealth.

Room Tip: Imperial Club

Wow! Having lived and travelled abroad most of my adult life, I have experienced lots of hotels and standards - the Atlantis ticked every box. Worried about lengthy check-in after reading previous reviews, but it went very smoothly and quickly. We were allocated a Deluxe Room with ocean view (couldn't afford the extra £900 for an upgrade to Imperial, but did hear, it was over subscribed and lost "elite feel", so quite pleased!), which was spacious, clean, very well equipped (iron, hairdryer, ironing board, tea/coffee making facilities, toiletries, robes, slippers - the lot in fact) and always well maintained throughout our 10 day stay.

Staff incredibly friendly and approachable with a high ratio to guests and always gave 110% and being a single mum, I usually get a sub-standard service (goodness knows why in this day and age) but this was never the case at the Atlantis.

Food was of a high standard and we tried the Saffron (best buffet), Kaleidoscope, Seafire, The Edge, Shore and Nasimi (the only slight disappointment, service not quite so good) and yes, drinks were expensive, but you get what you pay for. We were on a Half Board option and frankly, this was worth its weight in gold, could have been extremely expensive without. The Seafire Steak restaurant meal (not on Half Board) - 3 steaks, 2 side orders, 1 glass of red wine and 7 orange juices was £200, but the best steak I have ever eaten.

Waterpark brilliant (great for the lazy with lots of conveyor belts to take you to the slides), lazy river with the Torrent and Rapids section excellent and kept both my 11 and 10 year old sons (and me!) occupied every morning. Golf buggys take you to the waterpark, Dolphin Bay, pool which is great when the temperatures were reaching 40 degrees.

Aquarium and Lost Chambers good (glad didn't have to pay though) and a wander down The Avenues Shopping area nice after an evening meal. No evening entertainment, slight let down, but we did entertain ourselves.

Did a couple of trips to the Dubai Mall (taxis cost 50 AED each way, so not expensive) and only 15-20 mins away so that was easy when the midday heat got too much.

Would I recommend this hotel - definitely. It was the epitome of a perfect luxury family holiday and lived up to everything I hoped it would be (and more). Thank you Atlantis!

Room Tip: Had a great "basic" Ocean Deluxe Room on the 9th Floor and that was perfect.

This was my first time in Dubai and I won't forget it. First of all, this hotel is the best one I've never been. You have everything you want and can do what you want. I stayed there for 6 days and I didn't have the time to try all of the restaurants.
You also have the possibility to go to this big aquaparc which is the biggest I've ever seen.
Also the staff is very very friendly! If you need anyrhing they will bring it to you.
If I come back to Dubai I'll surelly go back to Atlantis. This was a great moment and of course lots of souvenirs.
I won't forget their 'avenue' where you can go shopping whenever you want.

We found the staff so helpful, Harker, Yassin, Agnes to name a few. They were wonderful. Anything you could think of, they had thought it before you, and had it covered. From the photographers to the pool boys, and valets, all marvellous. We loved the sumptuous decore, the brilliant aquarium, the amazing variety of food. So many fantastic experiences on every level. If we could give 10 stars, we would. Everywhere we have been since has come nowhere near the level of quality hospitality shown to us at Atlantis.

We're a family with two young children and we stayed here for a 4 day getaway. It was perfect. There is plenty to do at the resort itself. The property offers good restaurants, a lovely aquarium, and fantastic water rides and pools. My kids loved swimming with the dolphins and also feeding the stingrays. We enjoyed it so much that we only left the property once in 4 days to check out one of the malls in Dubai. I'd really recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxing holiday in Dubai and do something else besides shopping. Atlantis is usually expensive, but look out for specials on their website every now and again.
