I stayed in Dubai for two nights, my sea-view room was wonderful with lots of space and a dream bathroom. Pool and Beach are great. Room-Service Lunch was excellent. A really good choice when going to Dubai - the only thing I missed was more of an Arabic touch.

We stayed here for a week at the beginning of July and were very impressed with the standard of the hotel. We had a large deluxe sea view room which was beautifully furnished with a huge bathroom stocked with lovely products. The view was directly over the swimming pool area and the sea. There was an excellent selection at breakfast every morning and the manager did an excellent job over seeing the service. The only thing I would say is that the coffee was not as hot as it should have been and it would have been better if the staff walked round regularly with top ups.

We had ordered a car to pick us up from the airport with a car seat, however the car was not there on time and there was no car seat. When we got to the hotel, they apologised and sent us a bottle of wine to the room and also gave us a meal at Blue Orange. Although this was a buffet, the was a great range of cuisine all extremely fresh and of excellent quality. We also ate at the Thai restaurant which was as good as any restaurant we had been to in Thailand.

The swimming pool area was beautiful and the grounds lovely and the location convenient. The staff are dedicated and extremely helpful, especially Tommy the house keeper and the manager at Blue Orange. We can't recommend this hotel highly enough and would definitely stay here again if we return to Dubai.

We stayed there for a couple of nights on our honeymoon. Jack gave us a comlimentary upgrade for a better room as a honeymoon couple. The room was very big and cosy and beautifully furnished. The bathroom was also huge and very well layed out. The breakfast was amazing!!! There were about 10 stations serving all different kinds of freshly prepared food. My favourite were the pancakes! :-) There was a very long cool swimming pool which was great for swimming. Good selection of cocktails by the pool. There also was a pianist in the lobby in the evening...nice touch. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel without hesitation.

I booked our stay at the Westin as a surprise trip for my partners 50th birthday.

Well what a surprise for both of us, this place was fantastic. We were up- graded to a delux suite. We stayed on a half board basis and the food was to die for!!!

The whole complex is spotlessly clean, the staff are friendly and courteous.

Drinks maybe a bit expensive, but what do you expect you are in Dubai and the price is not much more than what you would pay in London!.

Roll on the next special occasion as I can't wait to go back.

Fourth visit to Dubai having previously stayed at the Al Qasr Hotel twice and the Jumeriah Beach Hotel once. Looking for a five star experience but at a more affordable price on this visit so booked the Westin based predominately on Tripadvisor reviews.

Overall opinion - A fine hotel that provides excellent 5 star surroundiings and value for money but with a few repetitive service "blips" which prevent it from truly competing with the real 5 star merchants, the likes of the Al Qasr hotel. Beautiful reception area with 8 storey atrium type lobby

Spent 14 nights here in a Deluxe sea-view room and couldn't fault the room in any way. Two queen beds, acres of space, all the usual 5 star gizmos including massive flatscreen tv, remote control lighting, turn downs with chocolates and water, comfortable beds, mini-bar etc. Bathroom also impressive with rainfall shower, huge bath and lots of space and ammenities.

Pools: kids covered pool with a slide, an island and a cave and a much warmer temperature than the other pools. Quite obviously a big hit with the Little Uns particularly the slide and the island which for the most part was used as a stage by the little divas. Main pool took the form of a freeform meandering style and was chilled which was very very welcome in the 42 degrees heat. The third pool was the normal rectangular shape divided into lanes for the serious swimmers and seemed to get plenty of use also.

Restaurants: Five restaurants in the hotel and we managed to sample four of them. Bussola is an Italian place which we couldn't recommend highly enough. Food is top class, black pasta with lobster sounds weird but is absolutely delightful as was the welcome for our our almost 3 year old. Spice Emporium was another of the restaurants this time with a Thai theme. Again the food was from the top drawer as was the welcome and the service generally again with the 3 year old taking centre stage. The Atrium was the lobby restuarant for snacks and coffee/ pastries and once again this was top drawer particularly the two girls who worked tirelessly to ensure everybody was happy. Blue Orange restaurant was used for both breakfast and evening buffets..... Food was top top class, plentiful and varied and staff did their very best to make sure everybody was looked after which wasn't always easy in fairness.

Location: On Jumeriah beach and very close to both Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Beach Walk and only a few hundred yards from the start of the Jumeriah Palm. Taxis are plentiful and extremely cheap as anyone who has been in Dubai previously will be aware. For example Dubai Mall the largest mall in the world ( 1200 shops plus ice rink, aquarium, underwater zoo etc etc etc ) costs €8 one way, Burj Kalifa building is attached to this mall and is the largest building in the world and the views are outstanding. Mall of the Emirates ( slightly less huge than 1200 shops but only just and with real snow ski slopes etc) €4 one way.
Lots of construction going on in background as can be seen from photos and this was jokingly referred to as "Gotham City" throughout our stay but in fairness it caused absolutely zero annoyance to us. The lack of footpaths outside the hotel was of more concern.

Service: We had a number of service issues but because of our generally laid back attitude we just let them go because at the end of the day we were on holidays. Hotel cars not arriving at the airport to pick us up, "Service express" requests being requested 4 times without response and the nightly "Turn downs" arriving at 5.30pm just after you had returned from the beach ???....... Westin Kids club not being in operation was another service issue and this should have been flagged in advance by both the hotel and Destinology through which it was booked. Sister hotel next door had their "penguin club" but a poor substitute for what was expected and paid for. The sort of stuff which really differentiates the real 5 star properties such as the Al Qasr Hotel from the Westin but thats why the Westin is €80 per night cheaper so on no account are we complaining uneccessarily, just pointing out the obvious really.

Conclusion: A lovely lovely hotel in a very very nice location at a price that is reasonable and fair. There are certainly "better" hotels along Jumeirah beach in Dubai which we have been priveleged to experience at first hand but pound for pound the Westin fares very well. It is certainly no Al Qasr but if the price diferential remains then we'll certainly return to the Westin in Dubai without any shadow of a doubt.
