“Worse than KFC”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2013

KFC is, IMO Unhealthy, greasy tasteless junk. Hard to beat would you think but Al Baik does it. Unbeleivable that so many people like it that it even gets rated #1

“I don't get it - A Western Perspective”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2013

It's a good, well-priced fast food restaurant, I'll grant that to Al-Baik. However, their chicken doesn't live up to the hype that surrounds this quintessentially Hijazi chain. I've heard stories about princes flying from Riyadh just for Al-Baik. The chicken's good, but it's not *that* good. Maybe it's because I come from the US - the urheimat of deep-fried poultry goodness. Or maybe it's because the square nuggets look blatantly processed. I just don't get the hype. The one exception was their sauces. There was a white, garlicy sauce and a chunky, red tomato sauce. Both were amazing and are what I would go back if I'm ever in Jeddah again.

“Best Fried Chicken in Saudi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2013

The chicken size is right , excellent crispy and salty mix either spicy or regular , the efficiency of the staff and the system followed is beyond impressive. The prices are so good you wonder how they make margins.
The value meal shrimps is unexpectedly great from a fried chicken restaurant.
Variety of sandwiches and snacks all great value for money.
Always cnsitent over the past 15 years but the downside is that its always very crowded and long cues as if its for free ! Nevertheless ; highly recommended if you are in Jeddah

“Saudi tucker that's been westernised.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2013

It's clean, priced right and friendly. If you aren't ready for shwarma just yet, then this is the perfect place to go to get a reasonable meal in Jeddah.
